Cubs: Learn How to Fish
Let your Cub Scout learn about the fun of fishing at Cub Scout Angler Education Day. This one-day event shows kids how to bait a hook, rig a fishing pole, cast, and more! Join us at Beaumont Scout Reservation on April 30. Register here

Honor Veterans During Good Turn
The 66th annual Memorial Day Good Turn is on May 29 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Preregistration is required. To learn more and register, click here.

The Jewish Relationships Committee's Good Turn is also May 29 at area Jewish cemeteries. For details and the registration form, click here. 
Outdoor Ethics & Leave No Trace 101 
This course will introduce you to BSA Outdoor Ethics including Leave No Trace, Tread Lightly, the Outdoor Code and The Land Ethic. Upon completion you will receive a BSA Outdoor Ethics/LNT Awareness certificate and will be qualified to lead portions of the BSA Outdoor Ethics Awareness Awards (Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity and Venture).
 
Training is 8 a.m.-noon at Beaumont Scout Reservation on May 7. Register here.
Set Your Sites On Shoot-O-Ree
Try your hand at archery and other shooting sports designed for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers on May 7 at Cub World. Stop by at any time and stay for as long as you like between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Scout-age siblings are welcome too. Read more... 
Summer STEM Camp 
Are you a Scientist? Technologist? Engineer? Mathematician? Find out at STEM Camp! Cub Scouts can explore STEM topics with the help of Ameren, Boeing, Monsanto, and Sigma Aldrich at Beaumont July 25-28. Activities include chemistry - strange goo and DNA extraction; building wind-powered cars, gliders, and bridges; and exploring all that Cub World has to offer. Register now.

MERIT BADGE SKILL CENTERS -- Upcoming merit badge skill centers include American Heritage (June 15), Fish & Wildlife Management (May 15),Fishing & Fly Fishing (May 15), Law (June 13), Public Health (June 2), Railroading (June 7).

NOTE ABOUT LION PILOT PROGRAM -- The Greater St. Louis Area Council shall not apply to participate in the BSA's national Lion pilot program for kindergarten boys at the current time. If favorable data becomes available as the pilot moves forward, this decision can be reconsidered for future program years.

NATIONAL JAMBOREE -- Don't just attend the 2017 National Jamboree, serve as a leader! Apply online and email your Scouting resume to Ron Gjerstad or Tony Fouts.
