Take Yourself To New Heights At STEM University
At STEM University, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers learn about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while working on STEM/Nova awards and related merit badges.

STEM U is on Saturday, Dec. 19, at University of Missouri-St. Louis in Lucas Hall. Cub Scout College features "Out of This World" Nova. Boy Scout College offers 25 merit badges as well as all four Nova awards. Venturing College features "Hang On!" Engineering Nova and the science behind roller coasters.

STEM U in Cape Girardeau is on Jan. 9 at Southeast Missouri State University, Demster Hall. Watch for news on the new STEM U at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale on Feb. 27.

The BSA Council Alumnus of the Year Award recognizes BSA alumni who have used the skills and values learned through Scouting to make significant and long-lasting contributions to local communities through their careers, avocations, and Scouting. Council Adopts 'Blue Card' For Advancement
The Council Advancement Committee has approved the adoption of the National "blue card" for merit badge record keeping, replacing the current "white cards." The remaining inventory of "white cards" will be sold at Scout Shops until depleted. The "blue card" is also available at all Scout Shops. Both versions of merit badge cards will be accepted indefinitely. Learn more.

Merit Badge SashMERIT BADGE SKILL CENTERS -- Upcoming merit badge skill centers include Law (Dec. 29), Truck Transportation (Jan. 9), Citizenship in the World (Jan. 16 or Feb. 20), Plant Science (Jan. 16), and Railroading (Jan. 23).

POWDER HORN -- This outdoor high-adventure resource management course is offered every other year. The next Powder Horn courses are scheduled for April at Beaumont Scout Reservation and May at S bar F Scout Ranch. Click here to register.
SILVER BEAVER -- The highest recognition bestowed upon an adult volunteer by a Boy Scout council is the Silver Beaver. Is there someone in your unit or district worthy of such an honor? For a nomination form, click here. Nominations are due Feb. 1.
