Scouting For Food Begins This Weekend
 The 31st annual Scouting For Food drive will be here before you know it! Bags are distributed to neighborhoods on Saturday, Nov. 14 and will be collected one week later on Nov. 21. Contact your district executive for your unit's distribution map. Each November, this drive provides over 520,000 meals for those in need in our region. Learn more. Help us spread the word by sharing these images on your social media channels or posting flyers in your community.

Blast Off With The Challenger Learning Center
The Challenger Learning Center's programs are "Out-Of-This-World!" Come enjoy programs for Bear Scouts (robotics), Webelos (adventures in science, engineer), and Boy Scouts (electricity, astronomy, space exploration merit badges). All programs include activities for Scouts to fulfill various Elective Adventures or earn Merit Badges. Or blast off with simulated space missions where participants take on roles similar to NASA astronauts, scientists and engineers.

Scouts Receive Emergency Disaster Training
This weekend more than 300 Scouts received emergency preparedness training at Beaumont Scout Reservation. Participants learned how to assist in the event of an emergency or natural disaster with training in topics such as fire safety, search and rescue, disaster medical operations, disaster psychology, terrorism, and team organization.

Powder Horn Prepares Leaders For High Adventure
 Powder Horn is an outdoor high-adventure resource management course designed to motivate and prepare adult and youth leaders to provide their unit with a variety of safe high-adventure activities. All participants can experience the many outdoor high-adventure activities available at our council camps. Offered only every other year, the next courses are scheduled for April 2016 at Beaumont Scout Reservation and May 2016 at S bar F Scout Ranch. Click here to register.
