Holi-DAY Camps Offer
Winter Fun For Cubs

Are you looking for something extra for your Cub Scout to do during winter break? Send your Cub and his sibling(s) to Holi-DAY Camp at Beaumont Scout Reservation. One session remains: New Year's Bash, Dec. 29-30. Fee is $65 per child and includes lunch, crafts, and activities. Register here

 

 

 

Earn Money Towards Camp Fees With Camp Cards
 
Scouts, Venturers and Explorers can reduce their out-of-pocket expense for summer camp through the Camp Card program. Scouts earn 50% commission ($2.50) for each $5 Camp Card sold between Feb. 1 and March 31. Camp Cards offer discounts at several local retailers. For a list of vendors, visit campcard.stlbsa.org

 

Units can order cards online at stlbsa.kintera.org/2015campcard. Not sure how many to order? Order 20 cards for every youth participating, or 20% more than the unit sold last year.
 

 

 

Nominate An Outstanding
Adult For Silver Beaver

The Silver Beaver Award is the highest recognition bestowed upon an adult volunteer by a Boy Scout council. Is there someone in your unit worthy of such an honor? Nominations are due Jan. 31, 2015. Read more or click here for a nomination form.

Wilderness First Aid Training 

If your unit is planning a trip to Philmont, Sea Base, Northern Tier, or other high adventure, at least one person from your unit must be Wilderness First Aid trained. Several course are available January-May at Beaumont Scout Reservation. The cost is $60, which covers books and materials, For a list of trainings and to register, visit scoutingevent.com?wildernessfirstaid.
 

Note: You must be certified in CPR with AED before taking this course. Each course is limited to 20 individuals with a maximum of two people from any one unit.

 

 

 

Train Youth, Save Money

The Greater St. Louis Area Council runs one of the top NYLT programs in the country. To encourage more youth to experience this life-changing training, the Council is offering the following incentive to Boy Scout Troops and Venture Crews:

  • Send two Scouts more than in 2014, receive $25 off per Scout
  • Three Scouts more, receive $35 off per Scout
  • Four Scouts or more, receive $50 off per Scout

More information will be distributed at January Roundtables and is also available online.

God and Me Award PROTESTANT RELIGIOUS AWARD RECOGNITION DAY -- If you have earned a Protestant Religious Award since January 2013, the Council wants to recognize your achievement at Beaumont Emerson Center on Feb. 14, 2015. Read more...

Merit Badge Sash MERIT BADGE SKILL CENTERS -- Upcoming merit badge skill centers include American LaborChess, Citizenship in the World, Dog CareLaw, and Truck Transportation.


RECHARTERING -- Effective Jan. 1, 2015, a unit not reregistered by its expiration date will be considered separated by the council and immediately dropped from the BSA -- leaving it without access to council facilities and programs. Read more...  

 

YOUTH PROTECTION -- Registered leaders are now notified by email if they have not yet taken Youth Protection Training or their training has expired or will expire in 30/60/90 days. Included is a link to online training. Make sure your email address is up to date!
