Orleans Wine & Spirits

Wine comes in many shapes and sizes, yet not all are created equal. Magnum bottles (1.5L) have always been connected with celebrations and parties however, some may know their true potential. Wine that is bottled in a magnum ages slower because of less oxygen that effects the liquid making it better for aging. For both collectors and wine lovers Magnums are the BEST way to buy wines whether you want the extended cellar time or possibly for a better glass of wine.

We have bought magnums for many years and have a very special selection that we have prepared for you today! All the following wines are being offered in their Magnum (1.5L) Size.
Nani Rizzi Ergi Gran Cuvée Extra Dry Prosecco DOCG - Valdobbiadene, Italy

Domaine Gardiés Le Rosé 2014 -
Roussillon, France
An ample and round blend of 60% Mourvèdre, 35% Grenache and 5% Cinsault with plenty of red fruit on both the nose and palate. It has bright minerality with a beautiful intensity and distinct notes of crushed blueberries that linger on the tongue. It would go great with Mediterranean cuisine or other rich dishes.

Domaine Notre Dame des Pallières Les Mourres Gigondas 2012 - Rhône Valley, France
90-92 Points Vinos
"Brilliant ruby-red. Sexy raspberry and cherry preserve aromas are enhanced by hints of Asian spices, smoky minerals and fresh lavender. Suave and velvety in texture, with lively, sweet flavors of red and dark berries, cola and white pepper. Soft tannins give shape and gentle grip to the spicy, dry smooth finish."

91 Points Robert Parker
"A blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and the rest Mourvèdre and Cinsault, the 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape is a classic effort that does everything right... Possessing excellent concentration, sweet tannin and low acidity, it's a rock-star base cuvee to drink over the coming decade."

La Ca' Nova Barbaresco Montesefano 2006 DOCG - Piedmont, Italy
90 Points Vinous
"The 2006 Barbaresco Montestefano is a lovely, mid-weight Barbaresco redolent of dark plums, prunes, spices and menthol, all of which are woven together in a frame of exquisite clarity. The Montestefano reveals terrific detail and a long, focused finish. I wouldn't wait too long to enjoy this wine, as it is already very complete and upside potential seems somewhat limited."

Boeri Pörlapà Barbera d'Asti Superiore 2007 DOCG - Piedmont, Italy
The flagship wine of Boeri Alfonso! A monster of a wine that with some age becomes a gentle giant with immense complexity. This wine has ripe black fruit and is fresh and extremely full. It serves very well with thick steaks and other hearty red meat or game. 2007 is one of Piedmont's great vintages!
