MJHS
(New York, NY)
This month, we have the honor of commemorating the victims of the Holocaust on "Yom Hashoah Ve-Hagevurah"- literally the "Day of (Remembrance of) the Holocaust and Heroism."

It is important that we remember when providing end of life care to Holocaust Survivors to be mindful of our words and actions--particularly because we may be the last generation of caregivers who have the honor, as well as the
moral obligation, of delivering compassionate end of life
care to Survivors.

River Garden Senior Services
(Jacksonville, FL)
Fun, laughter and lots of activity best describe the day. River Garden Hebrew Home celebrated its 70th year with a wonderful Anniversary Day festival. A little afternoon rain couldn't dampen the joy and enthusiasm, as more than 500 members of the community, ranging in age from infants to seniors, gathered on the River Garden campus to join in the celebration. The day's festivities included a barbeque, pony rides, face painting and clowns, balloon artistry, games, and a bounce house. Many also attended the annual meeting of River Garden Senior Services, held in the Cohen Auditorium.

Jewish Senior Services is building a new state-of-the-art campus based on the Household Model of Care. After years of research, the new design will be the first household model of nursing home and assisted living care in Connecticut and will serve to be the absolute best and most comprehensive senior care provider in Southern Connecticut, as well as a resource for the broader community.
