Nocturnal Dialysis Provides Alternative Treatment Option at Abramson Dialysis Center

For many patients, dialysis treatment is often a time-consuming, life changing process, requiring a visit to a treatment center three times a week for up to five hours each appointment. Many will need to make adjustments to their work schedules, home responsibilities, hobbies and activities. The Abramson Dialysis Center recognizes the many challenges that patients face and is now offering nocturnal dialysis to help mitigate the disruption to everyday life.

Maurice Zeffert Home (Perth, Western Australia):

Maurice Zeffert the Best in the West

Perth's only Jewish Aged Care organisation Maurice Zeffert Home has been awarded the best Aged Care Organisation in Western Australia.

The award was received at the annual Aged and Community Services WA (ACSWA) Gala Event 5 June, where MZH was recognised as the Organisation of Excellence for 2015. The award was in recognition of MZH's overall performance in providing aged cares services and of particular note was the Home's commitment to residents and how they involve families and the Community in planning and delivering care. CEO Dr Michael Preece said that it was wonderful to be shortlisted as a finalist, and to win was very special. MZH President Ron Wilson said that the award provided the Board and Community with a great deal of confidence that the Home has put the problems of the past behind them and is a service that the Perth Jewish Community can truly be proud of.

The Resident Council of Homecrest House Hosts a Gala to Support the Edwards Building Fitness Room

B'nai B'rith Homecrest House, Resident Council hosted a Gala on June 13, 2015 called "In the Good Ole Summertime". It was Resident Council Board Member Dorothy Dow who first approached Executive Director Joseph Podson to see if Homecrest could have another gala. Dorothy thought that this would be a great idea because in February 2010 Homecrest had a gala for the Haiti earthquake and donated money to the At Risk Children's Foundation. Dorothy and the staff of Homecrest felt that we should raise money for the Edwards Personal Care Building and honor Mr. Harry Moskowitz one of the founders of Homecrest House.
