H A P P Y  E A S T E R

March 1st. If ever March came in like a lion, it was this one. We awoke to snow on the ground and a winter storm warning for more snow falling in the afternoon. Regardless, I'm going to hang my yellow forsythia wreath on the door. It's the month of spring, after all.

Although it may look strange with all the snow and ice.

I have daffodils coming up in the yard, by the houses' foundation where it's warm. They bloom around April in spite of late winter snow. I usually cut them and take them inside. Their scent is sweeter than any I could buy in a store.

As you can imagine, I'm eager to be able to use my porch. No longer a screened porch, its windows have kept it nice and clean throughout the winter. I left the wicker furniture in place and only added my lawn bench and a few stone lawn ornaments to save them from the cold. I treated the round table on the porch to a new tablecloth and a new flower arrangement from Petals.

I've been working on my work-in-progress, Ginger's House, for two months now and am pleased with what I have. I'm hoping to finish it by the end of March. If this snowy weather continues to provide me with more inside writing days, that should happen.

In The Stone Collie I used the supernatural with a light touch. In Ginger's House, Jennet once again finds herself in the middle of a different kind of mystery. Who is Violet, the girl who wants to take her collie walking with Jennet and her dogs? What is the secret of the pink Victorian on Huron Court? Is the house really evil, as Lucy insists?

Stay tuned.

Ginger's House will be the twenty-first book in the Foxglove Corners mystery series. I find myself wondering if my readers are getting bored with them-if I should start a new series or work on another novel of romantic suspense like Love, Deadly Love, my last one.

I'd like to hear my readers' opinions. Also I'd like to know if I should continue posting first chapters on my website. I didn't do this for The Stone Collie. What do you think?

Remember, my new e-mail address is [email protected]

I love pre-ordering books and receiving notifications that they're on my Kindle long after it slipped my mind that I ordered them. Rhys Bowen's new Molly Murphy mystery, Time of Fire and Fog, arrived yesterday and I'm already four chapters into it. As of yesterday, I've read all the Rex Graves mysteries.

A reminder. The Stone Collie is available in e-book format and in paper at a variety of online sources. You can read about it on Wings' revamped home page.

I'm sure I'm not the only one anxiously awaiting for spring to arrive. Until April, then,

I hope you find your own 'new book' surprises and enjoy the season's changes.
