Dear Readers,
First, Happy Halloween, Samhain, All Saints' and All Souls' Days and Thanksgiving! I think that covers the celebrations for October and November, and I hope you will safely enjoy each one that you celebrate! I missed getting my newsletter out in October, and also missed making it to Richardson for the Buns and Roses festivities, and to Magnolia, AR for a book signing. Total bummer, right? Suffice to say a series of unfortunate events got in the way. Life has smoothed out now, and will hopefully stay settled. |
Final 450th Birthday wishes, St. Augustine, FL
I didn't get to join in the revels in September - billed by some as "Party Like It's 1565" - but I understand the birthday festivities were amazing!
King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain weren't in town for the main party, but did visit in mid-September for several days. They participated in dedicating the bells at our Cathedral Basilica, were guests of honor at a dinner at Flagler College, toured the Castillo de San Marcos, and toured various other landmarks and sites. I hope the royals had as great a time as the citizens and tourists seemed to have! |
Lovely Reviews!
Basket Case continues to garner wonderful reviews, and I'm both tickled and honored by each of them!
"Basket Case is an outstanding introduction to a very talented author.... I highly recommend Basket Case for an entertaining cast of characters and a gift for mystery." ~ 5 Cups, Coffee Time Romance & More
"Nancy Haddock's Basket Case has everything I could ask for in a cozy mystery. There's humor, outrageously fun characters, great writing, a wonderful plot and of course, murder." ~ Rating: 5, Read Your Writes
"This is a terrific cozy, complete with good and bad guys and at least one blooming romance between Nixy and Detective Eric." ~ Suspense Magazine
"I absolutely loved this new series and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all the characters and their personalities." ~ Top Pick, Night Owl Reviews

Giveaway
Let's try this again, and up the ante.
I've mentioned in the newsletter and in several blogs that a funny thing happened to me in Magnolia, AR. A funny thing that I exaggerated and used in the book. Know what that funny thing is? When you read the book, you'll know. You may also be able to dig around a bit and find an excerpt. Nope, it's not on my website, but the excerpt in question is readily available. Okay, got it? E-mail me at nancyhaddockbooks@gmail.com and tell me what you think the incident was. Please put "November Drawing" in the subject line! I'll give away a $25 gift e-card from Amazon or Barnes & Noble to the winner! The winner will be chosen at random from among those responding. Deadline to hear from you: Saturday, November 28, 2015. |
