Dear Neighbor:

Last week, the new legislature was sworn in to the 98th General Assembly, when I was honored to be appointed Assistant Majority Leader. I greatly look forward to the opportunity to continue representing our community and to work for all Illinoisans as a part of the House leadership team.

Please be aware that the new legislative boundaries are now in effect, and your state Representative and Senator may have changed. A map of the new 12th District can be found here and an interactive Google Map with all 118 legislative districts can be found here.

We will return to Springfield at the end of the month to work on a number of legislative issues that have not yet been resolved, including addressing the desperate state of Illinois' pension system. More work on Medicaid reform, the looming FY 14 state budget, and marriage equality will also be teed up for movement.

In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of assistance to you.

Very truly yours,

Sara Feigenholtz
State Representative
12th District

Heartland Pediatric Center - Lakeview Toy Drive Update

    toydrive 1

Thank you to everyone who took part in Heartland Pediatric Center's Lakeview Toy Drive. My district office proudly served as a donation center and collected dozens of toys throughout December and at our holiday open house. Thank you to our neighbors for all of your generosity. With the help of the community, the center collected hundreds of holiday gifts for their young patients.

Heartland Pediatric Center - Lakeview has been providing top notch care primary care for children for the last three years, meeting a need on Chicago's north side for Chicago's under-served children. Located on the 2nd floor of 3048 N. Wilton Avenue, this clinic is the result of a partnership with Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center to ensure that outpatient care is available to the community. The Health Center offers a variety of services, including: newborn care; well-child exams; school physicals; immunizations (including flu); management of chronic diseases like asthma; dental screenings and fluoride treatment for children through age 4; and urgent care for symptoms that need attention quickly, but don't require an emergency room visit. Medicaid and All Kids are accepted, and a sliding fee scale is available to those without coverage. The providers and all support staff speak Spanish. The Health Center is currently open five days a week with Monday and Wednesday hours until 8:00 pm. Same day or following day appointments are available, and walk-ins can usually be accommodated.
