Principal's Message
Congratulations Groveport Elementary Preschool!

Our Preschool was given a 5 STAR rating by The Ohio Department of Education.  The new evaluation system Step Up To Quality is a very intense and time consuming process. I wanted to congratulate Mrs. Downing and Ms. Rankin for this highest 5 STAR rating and thank them for all their hard work and dedication to our students and school.
PATRIOTIC 1st GRADE MUSIC CONCERT

The 1st grade students looked so cute in their red, white, and blue.
They sang their little hearts out.  Thank you to Mrs. Brunner for putting
together this concert for our families and making this memory.
Also, thank you to the students and families who were able to attend.

Positive Conduct Referrals
At times teachers have to write students up for negative behavior that is beyond what can be handled in the classroom.  Instead of only doing office referrals for negative behaviors, we decided to also include positive write-ups. These Positive Conduct Referrals will be written for students who exhibit good behavior and are a role model to otherstudents. Sydney Chandler received a referral from her teacher, Mrs. Brunner for being astudent who exemplifies positive behavior throughout our school. Sydney takes her responsibility as a student seriously and consistently leads by example in the classroom and on Safety Patrol. She is always willing to help other students and staff members and is a genuinely caring person.  She asks intuitive questions and shares connections she has made in class and experiences outside of the music classroom. Mrs. Brunner states, "I have loved having Sydney in my music class for the past five years and I am excited to hear more of her journey through her paths that she chooses to take."  We are so lucky to have her as a student at Groveport Elementary!

Focus on Learning

Ms. Miller's 2nd grade students have been studying various land forms and what type of natural disasters can occur.  This week it was volcanoes.  Students studied volcanoes are found, the affects they have once they erupt, and what causes them to erupt.  Then students made two types of volcanoes and watched them erupt!  The kids loved this!

Gold Slips
Gold Slips are given to students by staff members for many reasons. April Gold Slips will be given for showing the character trait of Fairness.  Students can demonstrate this trait by taking turns, listening to others, and being reasonable and open-minded. Students come to the office and put their gold slip in our Treasure Box. Every Friday, Mrs. Bray picks 15 -20 Gold Slips from the Treasure Box and calls those students to the office for a prize. Congratulations April 29th Gold Slip Winners -
Sophie Hawkins, Payton Short, Brandon Blevins, Payne Williams, Luke Robertson, Ava Youden, Alyvia Lucas, Cameron Nail, Aliya Stilson, Chase Bowling, Tony Faulk, Angela Berchie, and Morgan Murphy!
