Principal's Message
Report Cards were sent home today!
You should have received your child's report card.  Please make sure to sign and return the envelope, so we will have it for next nine weeks.

Safety First
Just a couple reminders about drop-off and pick-up. If you are driving your child to school, you can't use the bus lane which is the oval in front of the school.  You must either park on the street directly in front of the school and have your child use the sidewalk that goes through the yard or drive around the middle school and drop them off on the side of the school under the bridge that connects the two schools. As for pick-up, remember to park in an actual parking space and when you are exiting the parking lot follow the flow of traffic around the parking lot.  Please don't cut in line.  It is a hectic time in the morning and afternoon and we just want to make sure all students are safe. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
(Look for pictures from the Great Pumpkin Run, Parade, and Parties in next week's newsletter.)
Positive Conduct Referral - Chelsea Carson

At times teachers have to write students up for negative behavior that is beyond what can be handled in the classroom. Instead of only doing office referrals for negative behaviors, we decide to also include positive write-ups. These Positive Conduct Referrals will be written for students who exhibit good behavior and are a role model to other students. Chelsea Carson was referred by Mrs. CE for being such an honest and kind student. Chelsea found $25.00 on the way to breakfast and she immediately turned in the money. We later found out that another student lost her lunch money and she was so grateful to Chelsea.

Gold Slips
Gold Slips are given to students by staff members for many reasons. October Gold Slips will be given for showing the character trait of Responsibility.  Students can demonstrate this characteristic by being in charge of what they say and do, thinking before they act, accepting the consequences of their actions, being accountable for their own learning, and always doing their best. Students come to the office and put their gold slip in our Treasure Box. Every Friday, Mrs. Bray picks 15 -20 Gold Slips from the Treasure Box and calls those students to the office for a prize.
