Interim Reports Go Home Today!
Interim Reports were sent home with students today in grades 1 -5.  Please check your child's progress, sign and return the white envelope.  The first few weeks of school are dedicated to getting to know your child, learning procedures and assessing. Teachers will use the data gathered from these assessments to plan lessons. In most cases your child has not had a lot of work graded. Please keep this in mind when reviewing your child's interim report. It is possible that it could be higher or lower than you are accustomed to.  If you have any questions about your child's progress thus far, please contact his/her teacher. The first nine week grade card will be a better reflection of how your child's year is going academically.
Walk-A-Thon A Big Success!

The Walk-A-Thon was a great success and we reached our goal of $5000.  THANK YOU to our PTO, Mrs. Brunner, Mrs. Sperk, Mrs. Byler, and Mrs. Moore for all their planning, time and effort.  All the kids had a wonderful time.  Also, thank you to our 5th grade students who walked with our kindergartners and set a positive example for them.

The students who earned the Waterrific Recess had a blast!  We couldn't have asked for better weather.  Thank you to all the volunteers. We couldn't have done this without you and I think you had a good time too :)

School Smiles On-Site Dental Program!

School Smiles program is a great opportunity for your son(s) and or daughter(s) to be seen by a dentist while at school!  Every child should be seen by a dentist twice a year.  When your child participates they will have their teeth cleaned, x-rays taken, sealants placed (as needed) and will be examined by a dentist.  This is a new program this year and we are excited to work with them.  They accept most forms of insurance including Medicaid, if you do not have insurance your child could qualify for a grant. Self pay is also an option.  Please review the permission form, complete if interested, and return by September 22nd. Mobile Dentist is scheduled to be at Groveport Elementary on October 21st. If you have questions, please feel free to contact the Nurse, Linda Reynolds, at 614.836.4975.

Gold Slips
Gold Slips are given to students by staff members for many reasons. September Gold Slips will be given for showing the character trait of Respect.  Students can demonstrate this characteristic by treating others the way they want to be treated, being considerate and honoring the feelings, opinions, and property of others, dealing peacefully with anger, insults, and disagreements, using good manners, and no bad language. Also, students can show self-respect by being good to themselves, taking care of themselves, and not putting themselves down. Students come to the office and put their gold slip in our Treasure Box. Every Friday, the Principal picks 15 -20 Gold Slips from the Treasure Box and calls those students to the office for a prize. Gold Slip winners from September 4th - Landon Karshner, Jason McDonald, Laraw McKissack, Spencer Yoshikawa, Aliya Stilson, Taze Owens, Nailee Grubb, Mykah Bailey, Xavier Wilson, Anna Walker, Caeden Cramer, Sidi Diawara, Addison Griffen, Kathleen Slaby, and Charlie Vitan.
Congratulations - Keep it up!
