Remember to thank a teacher next week for all they do for our students!
Artist of the Week

Aliya Stilson

Kindergarteners read the book Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney. The book was about a lady who scattered lupine seeds all around in hopes of making the world more beautiful.  Kindergarteners made their own lupines using their fingerprint.  Aliya Stilson was selected by Mrs. Sperk for her fabulous project.  Aliya is a kindergarten student in Mrs. Garn's class. She has an older sister, Megan and brother, Jameson. Aliya enjoys cheerleading, basketball, drawing and painting.  She likes to draw flowers, snowmen and paint rainbows.  Her favorite colors are purple and pink.

Congratulations Aliya for being our Artist of the Week!

Groveport Elementary 3rd Graders Celebrate Arbor Day!
The City of Groveport takes great pride in being a Tree City USA Community and appreciates the opportunity to share the importance of trees with tomorrow's leaders.  We here at Groveport Elementary want to thank Mayor Lance Westcamp and Community Affairs Director Patty Storts for sharing this wonderful experience with our 3rd grade students and their teachers, Mr. Eft, Mrs. Geisler, and Mrs. Monhollen.  The kids had a great time planting the trees and many have already worn their Arbor Day 2015 T-shirts to school.  Thank you so much for including us in this special day and planting two more beautiful trees on the school grounds.

Gold Slips
Gold Slips are given to students by staff members for many reasons. April Gold Slips will be given for showing the character trait of Fairness.  Students can demonstrate this characteristic by playing by the rules, taking turns and sharing, listening to others, not taking advantage of others or blaming others, and treating all people fairly. Students come to the office and put their gold slip in our Treasure Box. Every Friday, the Principal picks 15 -20 Gold Slips from the Treasure Box and calls those students to the office for a prize. Gold Slip winners from April 24th-  McKenzie Anderson, Kyonna Buck, Price Cooper, Sarah Fosnaugh, Toby Hilligas, McDaniel Jean, Caitlin McCaffery, Megan Mitchell, Grace Pina, Nick Rattan, Ellison Rector, Caleb Reeves, Gavin Reeves, Angila Soumphonphakdy, Stevan Stewart, Andy Wengerter, Kody White, and Abby Biddle.
Congratulations - Keep it up!
