Groveport Elementary Welcomes Ms. Ewing to our Staff!

Ms. Ewing

Ms. Ewing is our new Intervention Specialist for Kindergarten students and 1st graders.  Alex Ewing grew up in central Ohio as the daughter of a teacher and a fire fighter.  She recently graduated from Ohio University and this is her first teaching experience.  She looks forward to being a part of the Cruiser learning community and we are thrilled to have her join our family here at Groveport Elementary!
Focus on Learning

Students in Mr. Eft's 3rd grade class working on vocabulary.  Partner reading
text and then completing word castles for unknown words from the text.

Mrs. Gordon's 5th grade class is working toward identifying the theme

Mobile Dentist is Coming Back!

The Mobile Dentist program is a great opportunity for your son(s) and or daughter(s) to be seen by a dentist while at school! Every child should be seen by a dentist twice a year.  If you choose to participate your child will have their teeth cleaned, x-rays taken, sealants placed (as needed) and will be examined by a dentist.  The Mobile Dentist program accepts most forms of insurance including Medicaid, if you do not have insurance there is a grant program your child could qualify for.  Please review the permission form, complete if interested and return by February 13th.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact Linda Reynolds the Nurse at 614.836.4975.

Freeze Fest

First Baptist Church in Groveport is offering a free day of fun for your child who is in K - 6th grade on February 16th from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm. Children will have a jam-packed day of adventure, activities, food, and music.  Register by Feb. 8th at fbcgroveport.com or call 614.491-8236.
Gold Slips
Gold Slips are given to students by staff members for many reasons. February Gold Slips will be given for showing the character trait of caring.  Students can demonstrate this characteristic by being kind, compassionate, thankful, forgiving, and helpful. Students come to the office and put their gold slip in our Treasure Box. Every Friday, the Principal picks 15 -20 Gold Slips from the Treasure Box and calls those students to the office for a prize. Gold Slip winners for Feb. 6th will be in the newsletter next week.
