Principal's Message
We had our 1st Nine Week's Awards Assembly (grades 2 -5) on November 3rd.  Students were awarded for Good Conduct, Perfect Attendance, Hard Worker, A/B Honor Roll, All A Honor Roll, and Teacher's Choice.  We are very proud of the students and want them to continue to come to school everyday ready to learn.  Please ask your child about the Assembly and their awards and encourage them to continue to do their best! 

Reminder - The Superintendent's Challenge has started (Nov. 3rd - Nov. 14th).  Please bring in canned items. The items will go to the Greater Groveport Food Pantry and the class that brings in the most items will have Mr. Hoover has a guest teacher for the day!

Nurse Bell Retires after 20 years with Groveport Madison

Mrs. Ruth Bell began her nursing career for Groveport Madison Local Schools on August 29, 1994.  She came to us from The Ohio State University. Mrs. Bell served as school nurse in several buildings, including, Asbury Elementary School, Madison Elementary School, Groveport Madison High School, Groveport Madison Middle School South, Groveport Madison Middle School Central, and last but not least, Groveport Elementary School. 

We can only imagine all of the changes in the nursing field that have occurred during her time with our district. We appreciate Mrs. Bell's service to the children of our District over the years.  We wish her well in all of her future endeavors.

ARTIST OF THE WEEK

Farrell Mabra

 

 

Our 4th graders were introduced to Rangoli's which are a type of Folk Art from India in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals.  Farrell Mabra was selected by Mrs. Sperk for his creative rangoli. Farrell is a 4th grade student in Mrs. McGonigol's class. He has been attending Groveport Elementary since third grade.  He has two older sisters, Gabby and Giana.  He loves football.  He plays football, collects football cards and enjoys drawing football fields.  He also likes drawing boats.  His favorite drawing material is crayons.

Gold Slips
Gold Slips are given to students by staff members for many reasons. October Gold Slips will be given for Using Kind Words, Doing Kind Things, and Including and Accepting Others (Rachel's 1st 2 Challenges) Students come to the office and put their gold slip in our Treasure Box. Every Friday, the Principal picks 15 -20 Gold Slips from the Treasure Box and calls those students to the office for a prize.
