Dear ASU Prep Families and Friends:

The first two weeks of the school year are behind us. We realize there is a lot of information at the beginning of the year and it can be easy to feel overloaded with information and tasks. We strive to help you keep track of key items you might still need to get our schools:

There are a number of forms that need to be completed and returned to the school. If you have not filled these out, please contact the school of your child for these. These forms include:

1) Pages from the Student/Parent Handbook acknowledging receipt, etc.(pages 38, 39, and 41, if not filled out at our beginning of the year ILP/School Orientations)

2) Any updated immunization records

3) Any updated phone numbers and email address, along with emergency contact and safety forms

4) Parent/Guardian permissions for "walk on campus" afterschool

  • If your child/ren are participating on a sports team, they are required to have a physical to participate. Physicals must be on file before the first game. Registrations and Physical forms can all be found on the Athletic website. www.asuprepathletics.com
  • One of the pillars of success at ASU Prep is family involvement.  Each ASU Prep family is required to serve a minimum of 30 credits of service (15 credits per semester) to the school.  One credit is worth approximately one hour of service.  To learn more about how you can get involved at your child's school, please talk to our front office assistants, your director, or your child's teacher to learn how you can volunteer.

Thank you for working together with us to achieve our mission of preparing all of our students to succeed in college, compete globally, and contribute to their community.

Sincerely,

Your ASU Preparatory Academy Polytechnic Leadership Team

Investing in Innovations - I3 Grant - Parent Survey

As part of our Investing in Innovations (I3) grant, we want to increase the ways families connect to the school and their child's achievement through technology.  Please take a moment to answer a few quick questions to help us design programs that can meet our parents' needs.  All information gathered is confidential.

Thank you!

Introduction: New 1/2 Grade Teacher at PES - Mrs. Ashley Allen

Hi, my name is Ashley Allen and I will be teaching 1st/2nd grade at our elementary school this year.  This will be my 8th year teaching.  Prior to joining ASU Preparatory Academy Polytechnic, I taught kindergarten at ASU Preparatory Academy Phoenix campus for 3 years.

A little bit about me, I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to Arizona in 2007 after receiving my B.S. in Early Childhood Multicultural Education from the University of New Mexico.  I have a 13 year-old son, Caleb, who is starting 8th grade this year.  We live in Chandler with our two dogs: Chloe, a Chihuahua, and Hurley, a black lab.  When we are not at school, Caleb and I enjoy getting out.  We love taking road trips, hiking, going to concerts, watching sporting events (especially football and baseball), wandering aimlessly around Target, grabbing sushi, hanging out at Starbucks, and just exploring everything Arizona has to offer.

I am looking forward to this school year and am excited to be part of the ASU Preparatory Polytechnic Elementary team!

Notes From the STEM Academy and Poly High School

Announcements from the Front Office:

Knowing your child is safe and working together to be sure we know where our children are each day is important to us. You can help us ensure we are on the same page with regard to student safety. If your child is tardy for school, please come into the building to sign them in. This helps us assure you are aware of your child's whereabouts so we can be certain every child is safe coming to school. Additionally, if you need to take your child out of school for an appointment, or bring them back to school following an appointment, please come into the building to sign your student in or out.

Many students choose to bring their lunches to school. Writing your child's name on their lunch box will help us locate missing lunch boxes and connect the lunch box to the rightful owner.

Thank you for helping us safely manage our students' time out of class!

New STEM Academy Faculty - Mrs. CJ Raidy - 7/8 Grade Mathematics

Hello, my name is CJ Raidy. I am an Arizona native and grew up attending schools in Gilbert. I now live in Gilbert with my husband and new puppy, Ellie. I love hiking, biking, swimming, playing sports and spending time with my family. I also enjoy competing in running events and triathlons. I ran my first marathon this year and hope to complete an Olympic-length triathlon later this year!

I attended Arizona State University and had the privilege of being a student athlete on ASU's track and field team. I competed in the discus and hammer throws. I was the 2010 PAC 10 Champion in the discus and earned All-American honors in both events. I was also named an All American for my academic accolades during my time as an athlete. While at ASU, I earned my BAE in Secondary Education Mathematics and my M.Ed. in Educational Technology. I have two years experience teaching at a high school level and I am very excited to be joining the ASU Preparatory Academy STEM team this year!
