Nut butters can be so expensive, especially if you want organic or all natural products. Here is a simple recipe to make your own.

  • 1 cup of your favorite nuts (use one kind or try mixing them. My favorite so far is cashews)
  • 2-2.5 tablespoons of oil (I like coconut oil)
Add to blender or food processor and blend until desired consistency. Store in refrigerator to avoid separation. It stiffens up in refrigerator but warms up quickly to spread on bread.
  
Try adding to hot oatmeal to add some healthy fat and protein.
