You're It!
I was meeting with a grant writer last week, and we were talking about the word "impact" and Impact Grantmaking. It's natural for people to want to see funding spent wisely, and I think we all want core changes to societal problems so that needs become manageable.
When it comes to "Impact Grantmaking," she said something that I hadn't thought about lately: That the "impact" of the Collective Impact newsletter happens when it is forwarded and shared with others. Yes, how else can the nonprofits hope to receive funding?
Through the website and newsletter, it's not only me trying to create some sort of "impact" on the health of Oregon communities; it is also you, by your willingness to help me and the nonprofits exponentially spread the word of need.
So, you're it! Share the newsletter through email, post a link to the "giving opportunities" page on my website on Facebook, Tweet the link, or hand out copies of the newsletter, because you just never know when someone has a little extra cash to give. Collectively, we will see results!
Thank you and best wishes,
Jennifer
