Weather and Needs

Yesterday morning it was cold enough that I decided to tick up the thermostat to take the chill out of my office. But in doing so, I triggered a reflection on the needs of other individuals in the community.

Having connected with so many nonprofits these past several years, I've come to see colder weather in a different way. It means homeless people seeking a warm and dry place to sleep. They'll need blankets, coats, warm clothing, and hot meals.

Before the cold really hits Oregon, how about taking a look through your closets and see what you can donate to the homeless shelters so that they can give items to the needy? Just about every nonprofit has a clothing closet for emergency needs so it won't be hard to find a nonprofit in which to donate. But if you want ideas, here's a website of interest:

Thank you and best wishes,
