Rely on Impact Grantmaking!
In a couple of months, I'll be coming up on the one-year anniversary of launching Impact Grantmaking's website and Collective Impact newsletter! The experience has been exciting and full of technical learning curves. When I left The Oregon Community Foundation last fall, I set out to make a difference in Oregon, and now I am starting to see results!
My commitment to help nonprofit organizations with their development efforts by increasing awareness of their services through the website and newsletter has culminated in numerous donations. Impact Grantmaking is the easiest and least expensive outreach tool a nonprofit can utilize to increase awareness of services and receive donations. I believe Impact Grantmaking will someday become a "Craig's List" for needs in any given community throughout Oregon and eventually the United States.
This past week, several donors shared their charitable activity with me, which was very exciting news for several nonprofits! With 35 consecutive newsletters emailed since November of 2012, people have come to rely on the information to connect their charitable interests to a nonprofit's needs.
To make giving even easier, we placed a "donate now" button next to the nonprofit's project summary on the website. This link will take you directly to the nonprofit's donation page so that the nonprofit receives 100 percent of your donation!
I hope we finish out the year with a blast of donations. Please let me know when you make a gift-it's wonderful news, and worth sharing!
Best wishes,
JenniferFounder jdurand@impactgrantmaking.com

HIV Alliance
Anna came to HIV Alliance in 1994 after she learned that she had AIDS, an advanced diagnosis of HIV. Her former partner from 8 years earlier had called her from the hospital to let her know that he was dying of AIDS and that she should get tested. After receiving an AIDS diagnosis, she spent the next year "pretty much in shock". At HIV Alliance we are very familiar with Anna's story and others just like hers.
HIV Alliance was founded in 1993 in Lane County, Oregon. Our mission was clear: to prevent new infections of HIV/AIDS and provide compassionate care to individuals living with this devastating disease.
Currently, we provide care coordination and nursing and pharmaceutical support to 750 people living with HIV/AIDS in 11 counties in Oregon. In partnership with the Lane Community College we provide dental services to over 300 people living with HIV/AIDS in 20 Oregon counties. HIV is an impoverishing and isolating disease. Consequently, we help our clients with basic needs such as housing and food, as well as provide social support groups to alleviate stigma and isolation.
We provide HIV prevention services in three counties in Southern Oregon. We also reach out to youth through public, private, and at-risk youth facilities. We provide basic HIV and Hepatitis C education programs, as well as an HIV-Positive speaker program in which the speakers talk about risky behaviors through the compelling medium of their life stories.
Over the last six years our service area has expanded rapidly. In this issue of Impact Grantmaking, we are asking for your support to help us provide care packages for our clients. Your support would make a tremendous difference! Best news is, Anna is still alive today and has been one of our many educational speakers.
