In my experience, setting up a matching challenge grant for a nonprofit can be an extremely successful way to increase donations. Of the 300 students currently being served, 50% are students of color and 81% are students who receive free and reduced lunch (indication of family living in poverty).

Sweet Home Emergency Ministries
Ordinary citizens volunteering at Sweet Home Emergency Ministries (SHEM) are
making a huge impact and committed investment in the lives, welfare and future of
thousands of individuals in Sweet Home.
The organization's primary focus and mission addresses hunger in Sweet Home.
Once a month, SHEM distributes an emergency food box containing enough nutritious food for three meals a day for four to five days. SHEM also sponsors a free meal site program three nights a week for the homeless, elderly, and those who need help in stretching their budget. As a result of the high unemployment rate and challenging economy, in 2012, SHEM programs distributed 3,864 emergency food boxes, feeding 13,341 people (4677 were children) and served 12,571 hot meals.
SHEM serves as the Salvation Army Extension Unit for Sweet Home and facilitates
programs for financial assistance for utilities and clients facing eviction. Hygiene
supplies and clothing are available free of charge to clients. SHEM provides bedding,
clothing and household items to assist families whose homes have been destroyed by fire. SHEM also coordinates Thanksgiving and community-wide Christmas basket programs, and a Back-to-School Celebration, which provides backpacks and school supplies for needy school-aged children.

Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Santiam - Summer Adventures
The B&G Club seeks funds to provide an enhanced summer program for East Linn County children. The Summer Adventure is designed to engage elementary age children in fun, educational, well-supervised activities that they might not otherwise experience due to lack of affordable care options suitable for this age range, summer learning loss, lack of family resources to pay for "summer fun activities. Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Santiam - Roy Johnston Field Renovations
The Roy Johnston Sports Field is managed by the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Santiam. Two years ago it was decided to close the fields so major renovations could be made.
