Welcome back! We hope you had an awesome summer. As we mentioned in the June e-newsletter, we'll be sending our newsletter bi-monthly moving forward. It will still be filled with the great information you've come to expect.

What's New
 Second Saturday: Wellness Works is scheduled for September 14 and October 12 from 10 - 2:00 pm. Chealsa Miller, Reiki Master, will be offering Reiki Treatments and Chakra Balancing w/Aromatherapy Sessions for $30 (30 minutes) or our newest treatment - Hand Chakra Clearing and Activation - for only $10. Maggie Mirenda will be offering mini-reflexology for $15 for 15 minutes and $30 for $30 minutes. She will also be accepting full appointments. For this month's contest, we're giving away two copies of the meditation CD called The Breath of Light: An Aura Journey by Laurelle Shanti Gaia (Dorothy's Reiki teacher from Sedona, AZ). This CD will take you on a guided healing journey. You'll find details of the contest below.
We had lots of people take advantage of the summertime specials we were offering. This group of trained wellness practitioners will continue sharing their gifts with you by offering Reiki and Chakra Balancing sessions. Please call for an appointment (see availability below). canro

Quantum Spoon Bending Class:A Model for Healing and Transformation
 We're excited to have a very special guest at Massage & Bodywork Centers - Gene Ang, Ph.D. Dorothy took his class this summer and wanted to offer it to you. The class teaches you about a tool for self-empowerment and unlimited potential.
Gene Ang, Ph.D. has a healing practice based in Thousand Oaks, CA and sees clients for a number of energy healing and shamanic healing practices. In addition, he teaches seminars that focus on the integration of science, spirituality, and healing. Gene travels both in the United States and internationally facilitating healing sessions and workshops.

Reflexology
 I am so proud to Congratulate my sister, Maggie Mirenda who graduated this June from the International Academy of Medical Reflexology. Maggie is excited to show you how receiving regular Reflexology treatments can support you in your overall wellness program! You can contact her directly for an appointment from the menu of services on the left side of this page! What is Reflexology? Reflexology is a safe, natural therapy that can help the body to biologically self-correct. Imagine a body that has a strong and well-toned nerve, blood and lymphatic supply! What can I expect in a session? Your feet can provide clues as to what is going on inside of you. During a Reflexology session, the entire foot is assessed, and throughout the session, whenever a trouble (sore) spot shows up, more time is spent on that area of the foot. By working on that area, the corresponding part of the body receives improved nerve, blood and lymphatic supply. Working these areas will promote greater relaxation and healing by improving nerve, blood and lymphatic supply. What does blood do? Blood transports nutrition, glucose, and oxygen to all parts of the body. Stress, which can be responsible for 80 to 90 percent of all ailments, can act like a tourniquet, wrapping around the body, squeezing so tightly that it causes an impediment of blood flow, which results in an ischemic condition. Reflexology can relax a specific area of the body enough to improve the blood supply to that area, which allows improved transportation of the nutrition, glucose and oxygen which that area of the body desperately needs to function or to regulate properly. What is the purpose of the lymphatic system? The lymphatic system cleanses and purifies the body and lubricates the muscles. A healthy system is a cleansed system; congestion is disease. The lymphatic system cannot cleanse or purify very well if it is weak, sick or congested. A healthy person's body will rid itself of toxic waste each day through the four channels of elimination: kidneys, bowels, skin and the breath. The lymph flows in one direction only, toward the heart; also, every lymphatic vessel begins and ends in the hands and feet. By using Reflexology (a specific, highly specialized relaxation technique), we are persuading the body to correct, strengthen, and reinforce itself. Fortunately, the body as a whole is highly intelligent. Innately, it knows what to do, how to circulate blood, how to maintain health, etc. Reflexology simply facilitates the different processes when a problem arises due to a person's lifestyle. It is a safe, no-risk, non-evasive but persuasive, highly effective therapy. Its success can be seen in many case studies. Hence a most logical conclusion would be that to maintain a healthy body, "reflexology" is a necessity not just a luxury. |
