Attention members of the Rotary Club Of Orange. I am writing this to you with a faint sense of disbelief. Why? My perception of you all as members include a belief in the fact that as Rotarians, you all, and I mean ALL OF YOU are very special. However, I am also noting a bit of disinterest in working even a little bit to help make our club even better than it already is.
I have made you all aware that the very special and very private survey is ready for your attention. This is a no cost to you effort to find out how you would like to either change or have everything the same as it always has been. Free of charge to you that is except for a brief 10 minutes for your time. No one, not even me will know who you are when doing the survey. Complete anonymity, privacy. A chance to express yourself without making a commitment to anything.
Only 39 of our 100 members have taken the 10 minutes to do the survey. I implore you to step up, click the link below and do your duty to make this a worthwhile effort. Many of us are involved in trying to make things in our club as we believe you want them. However, without your input it is difficult for us to know exactly what it is you want.
The new Rotary International President for 2013-2014 Mr. Ron D. Burton said "You are wearing the "PIN", now act like it.
I likewise challenge you, you are Rotarians, so please step up and do this brief assignment. Just 10 minutes, but it will do a lot of good. Do it today. You will honestly be glad you did, and feel better that you did your job. Click the link below to take the survey if you haven't done so already.

Today's Program: National Center for Missing & Exploited Children Presented by William G Steiner
Most know Rotarian Bill Steiner as the Founding Director of Orangewood Children's Home, Orange County's emergency shelter for abused and neglected children. But he also worked on behalf of vulnerable throughout the United States as a Board member for 16 years for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Washington, DC. In this capacity he served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and was seen as a national expert on the issue of missing and exploited children. The Center, which was established when Congress passed the Missing Children's Assistance Act in 1984, served as the national clearing house for all reports of missing and exploited children throughout the United Sates. As a result of public education and awareness, training of law enforcement professionals and a network of professionals using technology, the recovery of missing children has gone from 62% in 1990 to 97% presently. From the initial use of milk cartons to display the images of missing children to the current use of Amber Alerts, school based prevention programs and age progression technology, tools are now available that have significantly protected America's children. Bill previously presented a program on NCMEC to the club in 2006 that focused on the recovery of children who were displaced from their families as a result of Hurricane Katrina. This program will focus on the Cyber Tip Line which was established by Congress in 1998 as a reporting mechanism for child exploitation including pornographic images of children, on-line enticement of children for sex acts, molestation of children outside the family, sex tourism of children, child victims of prostitution and unsolicited obscene material sent to a child. 17.3 million images and videos of suspected child pornography were reviewed in 2011, four times more than in 2007. NCMEC collaborates with the FBI, the United States Secret Service, the State Department, the Postal Service, Customs, the Department of Homeland Security and local law enforcement to present a united front in dealing with these issues.
