Greetings!
Pres Ron Lacey
Pres Ron Lacey

Thank you so much to the three Rotarians that have sent me referrals of people they considered as worthy candidates for Rotary membership. I appreciate that we have among us members that believe in our club and are joining us in searching for and recommending potential members.  Please look through your list of friends,  business associates, clients and others in the community that have served you well. Have the names close by so when I call, you can give me their names and contact information.

Allow me to remind you that it is less than three weeks until Saturday March 9th.  This is the date of the 2013 ROTARY 5320 DISTRICT ASSEMBLY. Special Speaker:  RI Director Elect Steve Snyder

Location:  Chapman University,  8:00 to Noon.  THIS IS A FREE EVENT FOR ALL ROTARIANS,

just click here to register. Complimentary coffee and pastries await you!!.

Social Events Survey

Your Social Events Committee is asking for thoughts on social events for the coming months. We'd like your input on whether to continue some longtime favorites or replace them with some newer ideas.

We are looking for activities that are fun for families or couples and cover a broad spectrum from casual to formal. We will consider all cost ranges, but prefer things that are affordable for everyone. Click here for the survey list

Email your favorites to John Burt, (just click here)

Social events are an important component of keeping a Rotary Club interesting and vibrant for its members. It's a great way to build friendship and renew the Rotary spirit.  Please help us now by submitting your ideas as soon as possible.

YOUR ROLE IN ROTARY
Thanks for your continued support of the Rotary Foundation. Over half of the Orange
Rotary Club members have already completed their commitment for the 2012-2013 year.
By the end of March we hope to reach our goal of 100% support of the Every Rotarian Every Year program. As Governor Jim Lorman has said:
"To support our Foundation there is no donation of time and resources too small. Each contributes to result in an ocean of help for humanity."
You can complete your donation by check payable to The Rotary Foundation or by credit card.

The Rotary Foundation is geared up to implement Rotary's New Vision plan beginning
in July 2013, with 6 defined areas of focus:

1. Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
2. Disease prevention and treatment
3. Water and sanitation
4. Maternal and child health
5. Basic education and literacy
6. Economic and community development
Each week we'll take a look at one of these areas of Focus.

Maternal and child health
The Foundation enables Rotarians to improve the health of mothers and their children by:
1. Reducing the mortality and morbidity rate for children under the age of 5
2. Reducing the maternal mortality and morbidity rate
3. Improving access to essential medical services, trained community
health leaders, and health care providers for mothers and their children
4. Supporting studies for career-minded professionals related to maternal
and child health
