Greetings!

Pres Ron Lacey
|
Love is in the air. There is LOVE for our spouses or significant others, for our families Etc. The stress of course is finding some meaningful significant token to express that love so that those we care for fully realize the fullness of that love. Bring them to our Luncheon Thursday and you will have the opportunity to express your appreciation of them by both that gesture and by the wonderful entertainment that is being provided. Oh So Good!
My telephone campaign has started and you can soon expect a call from me seeking the name or names of those folk you know who would be good Rotarians. As promise, you do not have to do the work to get them to the club as a guest, we will do that for you. So, please sharpen up your pencil and have a name or two or more ready for me when I call. You will then have the satisfaction of doing your part to grow and improve our membership numbers, making our club stronger and better able to serve our community and our Rotary causes.
Dr . and Mrs. Mike Abdalla were recognized magnificently ate the District President's meeting Monday night. I will not spill the beans here, and the Abdallas cannot be at our meeting this week. Buy I want to give them or District Governor Jim Lorman the opportunity to make the announcement.
Happy Valentine's Day. Hope it is LOVELY for you and yours!
Ron

In the OC Register yesterday. He performs while sitting in an electric cart, as he contracted polio at an early age. This concert was a Rotary fundraiser to help end polio forever. It was very special!

YOUR ROLE IN ROTARY Thanks for your continued support of the Rotary Foundation. Over half of the Orange Rotary Club members have already completed their commitment for the 2012-2013 year. By the end of March we hope to reach our goal of 100% support of the Every Rotarian Every Year program. As Governor Jim Lorman has said: "To support our Foundation there is no donation of time and resources too small. Each contributes to result in an ocean of help for humanity." You can complete your donation by check payable to The Rotary Foundation or by credit card.
The Rotary Foundation is geared up to implement Rotary's New Vision plan beginning in July 2013, with 6 defined areas of focus:
1. Peace and conflict prevention/resolution 2. Disease prevention and treatment 3. Water and sanitation 4. Maternal and child health 5. Basic education and literacy 6. Economic and community development Each week we'll take a look at one of these areas of Focus.
Water and sanitation
The Foundation enables Rotarians to ensure that people have sustainable
access to water and sanitation by:
1. Providing equitable community access to safe water, improved
sanitation, and hygiene
2. Strengthening the ability of communities to develop, fund and maintain
sustainable water and sanitation systems
3. Supporting programs that enhance communities' awareness of the
benefits of safe water, sanitation and hygiene
4. Supporting studies for career-minded professionals related to water and
sanitation
