You made history, sort of.....
The November 15th newsletter had the most "opens" (61%) and "clicks" (48%) in our first year of going to an all digital edition.  What is an "open"?  An open rate is when you click open up your newsletter and a "click" is when you clicked on a photo, a piece of clip art, or underlined text, a link that gives you more insight of the story or just a bit of comedy to give you a laugh.  The results of the most clicked, were of the link to Orange Rotary's Photo Albums of the Rawhide Roundup on our Facebook wall.   This photos created alot of buzz with friends of Orange Rotary.  I invite you to have a peek by going to our Facebook page.  We get visitors from around the world!

To view the many photos of our activities of the Orange Rotary Club just head over to our  Facebook page.  The link is listed under "quick links" on right side of column.  Here you find lot pictures of our Club members and what there talking about. If you have photos you would like to post to our Facebook page, but don't know how to do it, see at our weekly meeting and will get those photos available for all our member to see!

Dear Rotarians,

Wheeeeew! The elections are over,  Thanksgiving is done, the Black Friday has came and went, and Cyber Monday is history!. Aren't you all glad?

Now we have a brief respite before Christmas ( The winter holiday ) for some of you, starts. So...lets get down to the business of enjoying Rotary for a few weeks before then.

We are being blessed and privileged to have our own Mike Merino as our speaker this week. Please accord him the honor he and all our service men and women deserve by attending the meeting this Thursday. I know Mike will appreciate it, as will I. You will also feel good about being there and enjoying his message and his great humor. Thank you !

Our own Moira Singer and Trish Bello are asking Rotarians to bring "nearly new" purses, or new donate ones, along with the usual Ladies essentials. Please be generous. These items will truly be helpful to the women that will receive them.

The accounting for the Rawhide Roundup is in the process of being completed. And if you purchased any auction items, you will soon see the debit or credit to your accounts in the very near future, and I will be able to report the financial results.

Lastly, our District Governor Jim Lorman and his lovely wife Cruz are inviting us to the Holiday Gala - on December 10. The festivities presently consist of The Bel Canto Ensemble (16 outstanding singers in holiday dress), JROTC Color Guard, Janie Wolicki singing the National Anthem, professional photographs taken of guests by Salvador Farfan and given at event, three course meal, wine, door prizes and more is in development. Please plan on attending, and letting us know as soon as possible, like - today ?  The link to signing up is on the right hand column.  We make is soooo easy!!!   Ron

Guantánamo Bay (Spanish: Bahía de Guantánamo) is a  bay located in Guantánamo Province at the southeastern end of Cuba. It is the largest harbor on the south side of the island, and it is surrounded by steep hills which create an enclave that is cut off from its immediate.

The United States assumed territorial control over the southern portion of Guantánamo Bay under the 1903 Cuban-American Treaty, which granted it a perpetual lease of the area.  The United States, by virtue of its complete jurisdiction and control, maintains "de facto" sovereignty over this territory, while Cuba retained ultimate sovereignty over the territory. The current government of Cuba regards the U.S. presence in Guantánamo Bay as illegal and insists the Cuban-American Treaty was obtained by threat of force in violation of international law.

It is the home of the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp, which is governed by the United States

Can you Help?
It's that time of year again! Time to start collecting your unused personal care products and your new or gently used purses for women in shelters and other support programs. When you donate items you make it possible for these women to receive a gift during the holidays.

Reservation numbers had to be in by Nov. 22 and we have had 28 members reserve for our Christmas Social Gathering of Little Women.  We have reached the maximum capacity for our pre-performance appetizer party at Tim and Jane Owen's home but we can still take reservations for the performance and the deserts with Champagne at the Theater.  If you would still like to attend the Little Women performance you must let me know this Thursday, Nov. 29th and we can increase our reservation with the theater.  Please let me know.  For those who have not yet paid for their admission, please bring checks, cash or Credit Card to the meeting on the 29th.  Make checks out to Orange Rotary Club with a notation in the memo line for Christmas Social Event.

Hope you can make it, it should be great fun.!

After shopping, the students will be bussed back to the school at 343 E Grove in Orange.
