    President Ron's Weekly Message

Dear Rotarians, this Saturday night many of you experienced one of the best parties our club has had for quite a while.  So many people have called and said what a great time it was!  I believe from most comments that the music by Cody Bryant and the Riders of the Purple Sage far exceeded our expectations. They were fun, moving around town to bring great sounds to our ears and memories.

The Rotaract Club from Chapman U came to help us in the Rawhide Poker Palace. Miss Orange, Miss South Coast  and Miss Orange County came too! They were so beautiful, worked hard selling Raffle tickets and talking to the many Rotarians and guests.  Miss South Coast thrilled us all with her rendition of our National Anthem.

I would like to thank all the wonderful Rotarians that worked so hard to make this party so special and successful.  Warren Parchan and his "Rotary Construction Crew"...Randy Straight & Greg Char, re-created the town of Rawhide, and it was magnificent, turning a rather elegant place into a real western place. Our newer Rotarians, Livia De Los Rios and Cynthia Selby, you made our silent auction and Gold raffle a huge success.  Erik Kuli and Jim Gilmore for getting the bidding booklet and silent auction items printed.

Glenn Chitjian for getting the raffle tickets printed and providing the Rogues Gallery Old Time Photos.

To those that gave so generously of the time AND money  Thank you!  To all of you attending, we are very grateful, Thank you.

The final tally for the Rawhide Roundup should be available by the next week.

Two more urgent requests came in from our community asking our assistance financially.  At this moment, I am not sure we can help, but we could if there were some of you who have not donated to our fund raising cause yet, that would do so.

In any event, thank you all. My prayer is that you and we will be mightily blessed so we can pass it on to those that need our help.

Rotary Foundation Annual Programs Fund

This Thursday is the final date to turn in your 2012-13 Rotary Foundation commitment and receive raffle tickets. Thus far 44% of Orange Rotarians have turned in their commitments. Ask John is you would like to know how close you are to the next level of Paul Harris recognition, or you may wish to make a family member a Paul Harris Fellow. Thanks for your support of the Rotary Foundation. One-half of your contribution comes back to our District for local matching grants.

Can you Help?
It's that time of year again! Time to start collecting your unused personal care products and your new or gently used purses for women in shelters and other support programs. When you donate items you make it possible for these women to receive a gift during the holidays.
