We've just confirmed that Leah Cecil, the reigning Miss California will be making an appearance during our Nov 8th meeting. An ABC Television crew will be taping Leah's reception at Orange Rotary as part of a documentary of the state contestants who compete for the Miss America title in January 2013.
Leah is a Garden Grove native who graduated from Cal
Leah Cecil Miss California State Fullerton in May and is a professional harp player. She recently  beat out 57 other contestants during the state-level competition at the William Saroyan Theatre in Fre
sno. She won a $10,000 scholarship and will represent California at the Miss America Pageant in January.

Our fundraiser is now just 10 days away.  We desperately need your reservations to the Rotary Rawhide Roundup.   Our venue is pressing us for an accurate count of how many will be coming.  Please,  drop your ticket reservation check by our registration desk, mail it in, or even better go click this line and it will take you to the online registration page. How easy is that!  Just click on the brown flyer and scroll down to the white form. Just chose the level of sponsorship you want to take part in, or below that how many tickets you want to buy. You can pay by check or credit/debit cards, and do it all on our secure website at one time.

Remember, most of you have friends that appreciate some good old country music, and we have the best coming, so invite them also. Cody Bryant and the Riders of the Purple Sage have played before Rotary Groups to rave reviews.

Please support your Rotary Club and the many projects that depend upon our fund raising efforts.

Thank You!  Ron

PROJECT HOPE SCHOOL
CHRISTMAS   SHOPPING

Friday December 7, 2012   9:30 am -12:30 pm

Once again, the Orange Rotary Club continues the tradition of taking the Project Hope School students Christmas shopping for gifts for their family members. This project was started in 1989 by Rotarians Cliff Nelson and Bob Holland.

Rotarians will meet & be assigned students at the Target 2191 N Tustin Ave at 9:30 am. Each Rotarian will be given a specific amount of cash for the students to select gifts for their family members. After shopping, the students will be bussed back to the school at 343 E Grove in Orange. Rotarians will follow and join the students to assist in wrapping the gifts and enjoy lunch with the students.

The Sindh province of Pakistan contains some of the most remote villages in the world. To reach children there, the vaccine must travel more than 1200 kilometers from Islamabad. It goes primarily by jeep, donkeys, horses and boats.
