Lower School

Thank you to all who helped make Field Day a success! The kids had a blast with all of the different water activities. Thank you also to those who helped fill all those water balloons. We could not have done it without all of you. And to the 9th graders: we hope you had fun, too. Thank you to all!

Last day of school is Wednesday, May 22. Fifth grade graduation is at 9:00 am. It is a full day of school for all K-4 students with dismissal at 2:30 pm. There is NO PAU on May 22.

School Supplies for 2013-2014: Next year, the lower school will offer to purchase, gather and prepare all your child's school supplies. Please see the flyer that went home in last week's Friday folder. For $45 per student, the school will do the work for you! We encourage you to take advantage of this great opportunity. All paperwork must be returned to Kealoha by May 22.

Lost and Found: The end of the year is quickly approaching and the lost and found basket is overflowing! Please check the basket (located outside the office) for any items your child may be missing.

PTSOPTSO

Conscious Discipline Education Series: Please join us for the final wrap up session on Tuesday, May 21 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in the lower school 'Ohana Room. We will discuss and review the skills we've covered: composure; encouragement; assertiveness; choices; positive intent; empathy; and consequences. Get highlights of the sessions you've missed and answers to questions you may still have. Please sign in first at the Lower School office. For more information contact Ann DiLoreto, 315-5549. Sponsored by PTSO.

Parent Survey: At the end of each school year, PTSO asks for survey responses to help determine which programs and events to support and fund the following year. Please take a couple of minutes and point your browser to: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PTSOSurvey2013. Your survey will also provide the school administration and Board of Directors with valuable information about parents' preferences, thoughts and concerns. Survey results will be shared via email. Copy this link to your browser for last year's results: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mdmq9z84lso4xif/2012%20Parent%20Survey%20Results.pdf.

Fall Middle and Upper School Get-Togethers: PTSO is reviving a past tradition at Parker School by facilitating middle and upper school level get-togethers near the beginning of the school year. In the interest of uniting our 'ohana, these gatherings will provide an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and welcome new families into the class. Events will be potlucks held at beaches, parks, or private homes. Stay tuned for dates and locations to be announced later in the summer!

Like us on Facebook! Remember that you can find news, events and minutes from past meetings on our PTSO facebook page: Facebook.com/ParkerSchoolPTSO.
