National Headquarters Moving! Printing Industries of America is moving its national headquarters in Pittsburgh. Tomorrow and Friday, the association will be moving from its current location in Sewickley slightly north to Warrendale, Pennsylvania. PIA expects the move to be a full two days and reminds members that the offices will be closed during this period with only a skeleton staff on the premises. The PIA website will be fully operational, however, and staff will be checking emails and phone messages from home. The new address for PIA is 301 Brush Creek Road, Warrendale, PA 15086. All existing telephone numbers, including direct dials, remain unchanged.

Sales of Printed Books Are Growing!
For years, the pundits have been telling us that all forms of print media would steadily shrink and shrivel as consumers switch to digital media. But here are two indications from the US book industry that state otherwise. - Unit sales of printed books are on track to increase this year.
- During the third quarter of 2014, print books actually took market share from ebooks.
Publishers Weekly notes that the industry is poised to post its first increase since 2008. BookScan data shows a two percent sales bump so far this year. This report follows two consecutive weeks of sales that were up five percent versus last year. Source: BookScan.

Recognize your stars!
We all have them or aspire to - employees who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, individuals that make a difference, stars that shine!
Think of the CSR or pressman who saved the day, the sales rep who closed a huge deal, the estimator that improved your profitability. Or your receptionist who puts a smile on everyone's face, the IT professional who averted disaster or the accounts receivable clerk who collected from that impossible client.
Everyone enjoys receiving praise for their work and what better way to recognize your key staff than for them to receive a WSPA Employee Recognition Award in front of their peers.
This year in conjunction with WSPA's Print Excellence Award events, held April 23 at Rustler's Rooste in Phoenix and April 30 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Denver deserving employees will be presented beautiful certificates recognizing their contributions.
How can your recognize your key staff? Simply download and complete the fillable PDF form on WSPA's website ( www.wsprint.org/emp-recog) and return by email to June Crespo at jcrespo@wsprint.org or FAX (412-259-2016). You can enter as many employees as you would like.
The cost of each certificate is only $25 and you can recognize 5 employees for just $100. Deadline for submissions: March 31, 2015.

Image Color Correction Tips Color correcting images is a two step process. First, you have to assess the image (or figure out where the color problem lies in the image). Then you have to figure out which colors should be adjusted to make the image correct. If an image is too red, should you remove magenta and yellow and add cyan? If the image is too green, should you remove cyan and yellow and add magenta? You can use the color correction tips below as a guide to help you determine which color adjustment may be best. For dark images- If the image is too red, reduce magenta and yellow
- If the image is too magenta, reduce magenta
- If the image is too blue, reduce cyan and magenta
- If the image is too cyan, reduce cyan
- If the image is too green, reduce cyan and yellow
- If the image is too yellow, reduce yellow
For light images - If the image is too red, add cyan
- If the image is too magenta, add cyan and yellow
- If the image is too blue, add yellow
- If the image is too cyan, add magenta and yellow
- If the image is too green, add magenta
- If the image is too yellow, add cyan and magenta
Don't forget, as a member of WSPA you can call PIA's Technical Hotline at 1-800-910-4283.

 Printing Sales DNA Project
What does it take to be successful in printing sales? Printing Industries of America is partnering with industry consultant Dave Fellman to find out. Mr. Fellman is the author of such popular books as Sell More Printing and Listen To The Dinosaur which Selling Power Magazine listed as on its is 10 best books to read in 2010. The Printing Sales DNA Project is all about identifying and prioritizing both the personality traits and the working skills and attitudes that make up the optimum "DNA" for a modern printing sales person. With this data, you'll have new insight into exactly what's holding your current salespeople back, and how to train and/or motivate them to better performance. You'll also be equipped to make better hires in the future. The DNA Project involves an industry survey where you will be asked to rate 20 success factors of sales professionals. The exercise should take no more than 5-8 minutes, including some basis demographic data you'll be asked to provide. The Printing Sales DNA Project seeks responses from salespeople, sales managers, printing company owners, and other company managers, even if they're not directly involved in sales. The goal is to identify both what salespeople think is important, and what management thinks is important, and ultimately to get everyone on the same page. All participants in the survey will receive a complimentary copy of the basis results. You will also have the opportunity to purchase a more detailed report from PIA later this spring. Note: You will have to provide your name, company and email address in order to receive the complimentary report, but you also have the option of participating in the study anonymously. The survey site will remain open until February 28, but please don't wait until the last minute. To participate go to http://printingsaslesdna.com/pia2015. Stay tuned for the exciting results.

Attention Employers!
Please don't forget to your OSHA posting. Between February 1 and April 30, employers must post their OSHA Form 300A. If you have more than 10 full time employees, you will need to complete, sign, and post the document. Even if you are fortunate enough to not have any recordable injuries or illnesses, you must still complete and post the form. OSHA's Form 300A summarizes the total number of job-related injuries and illnesses, which occurred during 2014 that were documented at a company. OSHA's Form 300 is the log of work-related injuries and illnesses, which notes the extent and severity of each case. Remember that the Form 300A must be displayed in a common area where notices to employees are usually posted. For more information contact Gary Jones at 1-800-910-4283 (ext. 794) or gjones@printing.org.
