Making OSHA Fun?
OSHA has turned to the realm of interactive gaming to help companies identify hazards in the workplace.
Its new Hazard Identification Training Tool is an interactive, online, game-based training tool for small business owners, workers and others interested in learning the core concepts of hazard identification. After using this tool, OSHA asserts users will better understand the process to identify hazards in their own workplace.
This tool is intended to:
(1) Teach small business owners and their workers the process for finding hazards in their workplace,
(2) Raise awareness on the types of information and resources about workplace hazards available on OSHA's website.
While the tool is unlikely to displace Grand Theft Auto or other popular games, it is a creative way to explore how to identify common workplace hazards in manufacturing industries like print.

Successful marketing campaigns combine digital and print
According to Infotrends, the more diversified customers' marketing programs and budgets become, the more these customers needs printers to show them how to effectively integrate and manage all of the components. Marketing campaigns of the future will create new revenue streams by using multiple communication channels. Print can remain a cornerstone for many marketing campaigns, but a printer who can offer their customers ideas of how to incorporate their printed and digital communications will certainly have an edge in the marketplace.

Sample ADA Policy May Not Be Good Enough
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission released an informal discussion letter that may prompt some employers to reexamine their own policies and forms related to reasonable accommodation requests to ensure the documents comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. We suggest members obtain policy updates from a reputable source (such as our HR Department) and have local legal counsel review your employee handbook for federal and state compliance annually. For more information contact Jim Kyger at jkyger@printing.org.

Golf Tournaments
Many of you have asked about the status of the Association's golf tournaments this summer. As a result of the change in staff executive directors this year, there will NOT be summer golf tournaments in either Phoenix or Denver. We are happy to report that both tournaments will return again next year. Gary Matchinsky has graciously agreed to spearhead our tournament in Phoenix for next spring and we are working on the details for the Denver event. We will keep you posted!
