Art Day Class Registration Closes Tonight, January 10th!
Don't delay! There are only a few hours left to register for Art Day classes. Registration has been open all week and will close tonight at midnight. Each student needs to go to the Art Day website and select their top 6 class choices. From those preferences they will be assigned 3 classes. The registration process is quick and easy.

A few students have had difficulty with their name not being recognized by the system. If this happens, you should try refreshing the page and/or open a new browser. If you're still having problems, please email [email protected] with the student's name and 6 class preferences and it will get entered by the site administrators.

Volunteering at ICS - Reminder
We are coming to the end of the first semester this year. Have you been volunteering and reporting your hours to the website? This is a great time to think about volunteering - the end of the year will be upon us in no time, and then it is very difficult to find opportunities to fill the 30 hour annual commitment.
A few reminders:
  • Focus Week is May 23-27. Parent volunteers will be needed and requests for assistance will be posted in future newsletters.
  • Volunteer hours cannot be gifted or transferred between families.
  • Hours can be earned by adult family members or caregivers.
  • Site Work Parties/Clean up hours count for ALL family members who attend - students, siblings, parents, etc.
If you need help finding opportunities, please read the weekly newsletter - this is where volunteer opportunities are advertised. You can also contact committee chairs directly if you'd like to work with a particular committee. Their contact information can be found in the school directory, or at this link on the PTSA website. If you still need help identifying opportunities or have questions, please contact  Kathy Thompson. Thank you in advance for supporting our school, staff and students!
Reporting Volunteer Hours
Here is how to record your volunteer hours:
  1. Log into the PTSA website using the log in form on the right side of the homepage.
  2. Click on Input Volunteer Hours under the Volunteering menu item on the left side of the screen.
  3. Complete all of the required information and click on the 'Submit' button. If you've already entered volunteer hours in the past, your last entry will be pre-populated on the screen. Simply edit the 'Category', 'Hours', and 'Comments' (if necessary) and click on the 'Submit' button once. If you do not click on the 'Submit' button, your hours will not be recorded.
Please note: You must first create an account on the website in order to record your hours. Once you've registered and 'confirmed' your registration, please allow 24 hours for your account to be approved. You will need an active account to enable you to post your volunteer hours. If you have questions about reporting your hours on the website or have trouble with logging on, please contact the PTSA webmaster for assistance.

Crowdfunding Website for ICS ASB Charity Fundraising
ASB Project for the year: ASB is making an effort to make a difference in the world by funding a well in Zambia through Good Neighbor's Water for Life Project. They have established a CrowdRise site to make it easy for parents and students to donate to the project.
To donate, go to: Water for Life Project. In addition, there are jars placed around the school for donations, and ASB members will be selling cookie dough in February to raise money. Please help support our effort by giving generously. If you want to know how close we are to the goal we have set, check out the bulletin board at the beginning of the classroom hall at ICS. Questions? Email Mrs. Nelson.
Passive Fundraising
There are different ways you can support your school and help to raise money for ICS. Please consider doing one or all of them to support ICS.

1. Box Tops
Parents and students can collect Box Tops for Education found on many packaged foods, like cereal boxes, or household items, like tissue boxes, etc. Bring the collected BoxTops to PTSA room, there is a designated collection box on the counter. Two or three times a year collected BoxTops are sent out for deposit on ICS account.

2. Bartell's eScrip program
With every purchase a parent makes at Bartell's, ICS receives a percentage of their purchase. Register at the store. Just mention at the register that you would like to sign up for eScrip program. Then use the member card whenever you shop at Bartell's.

3. Everything Party
We also have a small program with Everything Party, the party store in Redmond and Renton. If parents purchase things at the store and tell them at the check out that they support ICS, the store will donate 10% of the purchase price to ICS. Please follow the link to find a store location.
Please contact Lusine Keshabyan or Irina Ankudinova for more details
