PSAT/ACT/SAT Information
  • ACT/SAT Prep Course Registration is now open: To all 10th and 11th grade ICS students and parents: ICS PTSA is pleased to offer an ACT and a SAT Prep Course at ICS this year. There will be 2 sessions - 1st session is ACT PREP, while the 2nd session is SAT PREP Course. The registration for both sessions are now open and is on first come, first serve basis. The course dates for each session and registration details are here and here. To register or if you have any questions, please contact Vijaya Kandikonda.
  • SAT/ACT Practice Test Opportunity: The Eastlake High School PTSA and The Princeton Review are teaming up to bring you FearFree SAT and ACT testing at EHS. This is open to all LWSD Students, not just EHS students. See the flyer and registration form on the ICSPTSA website.
  • All ICS sophomores and juniors will take the PSAT on October 14, 2015 during the school day. The PSAT/NMSQT assesses the critical reading, mathematics, and writing skills students need for college and beyond. It provides detailed feedback on skills, access to scholarships and personalized online tools, and excellent practice for the SAT.  It is the expectation at ICS that ALL 10th and 11th grade students take the PSAT.  The district is paying for all 10th grade fees; the 11th graders need to pay $15. Please make checks out to ICS and bring to the main office by Friday, October 9th

For more information about the PSAT, please see the College Board website.

In order to do this, we need you submit one or two pictures of your student enjoying summer activities, travel, awards, hobbies, sports, etc.  Also, throughout the year, there are many awesome ICS events your child will be part of. If you, as a parent, are attending any of these amazing events, please take pictures for us and send them in for yearbook. Each picture may be submitted using this link. You are also welcome to email your pictures to Cindy Simon or Tinka Basu.

Volunteering
ICS Newsletter Reviewers and Editors Needed
The ICS Newsletter Team needs volunteers to collect and review content submissions (Content Reviewers) and to prepare the content for publishing (Editors). This is an excellent option for those looking for volunteer opportunities that can be done from home. Please email Daniela Hristova if you are interested.
Parent Chaperones Needed for Game Night
ICS MUN is sponsoring a Game Night on Friday, October 9th from 6-9pm at ICS. MUN (Model United Nations) is one of the three pre-professional-oriented clubs for upperclassmen at ICS. This event will feature movies, board games, video games, and other fun activities and is open to all ICS families and friends. We need at least five parent chaperones to help us run stations during the event (no knowledge of specific games required).  Please contact Zoe Garbis if you would like to volunteer.  Also, the club needs donated supplies for this event. Please sign up at this link if you can donate any of the items (donations will not be reimbursed).
Volunteer needed to design a poster
A poster needs to be designed for the upcoming Phoenix Challenge (getting students involved in 5K running events throughout the school year). The poster needs to be designed and reproduced (there is a large format printer at school that can be used) by early next week. If you are interested in working on this request, please email Kathy Thompson, volunteer coordinator for more information.
Volunteers Needed for the Robotics Club
Meets: Fridays 2:15pm - 4:30pm in Room # 165 Mr. Gibson's room beginning mid-October, 2015
At least two parent volunteers are needed at each weekly session. Parents with either hardware or software experience, or anyone that is good at working with their hands and building things are ideal.
We are also looking for any parent volunteers to run the club such as supervising the club hours. You do not have to have deep robotics skill or experience although it is nice to have them.
