60-Minute Webinar Managing Professional Exposures as a Small Project Practitioner
Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2015
Time: 1:00 - 2:00 PM EDT
Earn 1.0 AIA HSW LU
Description:
The speakers are Joseph H. Jones, Jr. AIA, Esq. and Frank Musica, Assoc. AIA, Esq. of Victor O. Schinnerer & Company, Inc., where they provide advisory and informational services to design firms insured through Schinnerer in the CNA design professional liability program.
The exposure of a small firm to claims of negligence in the performance of professional services is close to ten times as high per dollar of billings as it is for large firms and claims from either clients or third parties can destroy the sustainability of a professional practice. By limiting productivity, damaging a firm's professional reputation, and jeopardizing the personal assets of a firm's owners, professional liability claims can challenge the financial viability of a firm. This webinar will educate you about identifying and managing the professional risks faced by small firms.

Technical Note 20: Cleaning Brickwork
Sponsored by the Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey/Delaware Brick Distributor Council
The final appearance of brickwork depends primarily on the attention given to masonry surfaces during construction and the cleaning process. Recommended cleaning methods and materials vary depending on the type of brick, mortar, construction and reason for cleaning. For example, cleaning the newly constructed brickwork of an entire building requires a different approach than removing stains from an isolated portion of an existing wall.
This Technical Note 20 addresses cleaning of brickwork and brick pavements. Methods for removal of efflorescence and a variety of specific stains are discussed, that if followed, should result in the successful cleaning of brickwork.
This information is brought to you by the Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey/Delaware Brick Distributor Council. For more information on clay brick, contact Delaware Brick Company.

Earn 5.0 AIA HSW LUs
Cost: $150 AIA Members; $200 Non-AIA Members

Accessible Routes or Path of Travel in new and existing projects are essential aspects of Accessible design. Not only is the route or path required to be accessible but there are many elements that are included within the definition which also are required to be accessible. We will look at a broad view of these elements, as one progresses from the street, thru the site, and into the buildings, touching on their various accessibility requirements.
Organized by AIA Long Beach / South Bay (California) and presented in-person and as a LIVE WEBINAR. Learn more or Register Now.
