Dear Parents!
I hope you had a wonderful Easter and spring break!  This may be silly to say, but we have the best students, parents and teachers!  Our children are happy, enjoy their classes and their friends, and are courteous to all of the folks that are touring our school.  With every tour we give, prospective parents consistently tell us how impressed they are with the learning that takes place in our classrooms and how respectful our students are to their teachers and their peers.   Parent support is unparalleled!  Parents are friendly, willing to visit, provide feedback, support programming as well as the staff.  The level of parent engagement is amazing!!!!  Parents that are volunteering are gracious and willing to talk about BSCS to prospective parents.  Our superb teachers spend an inordinate amount of time preparing challenging and attainable academic activities for our students each and every day, tend to the students socio-emotional needs, and ensure they are safe!  We see these behaviors play out on a continual basis.  I am happy to share each week about the wonderful activities that take place!  One might say I am being subjective as I am invested and biased!  This may be true, but when we have community members and prospective parents express these same sentiments, then we know it is both subjectively and objectively true.
Recently, we toured a family who wanted to leave their public school for a Catholic School.  They toured several Catholic Schools in the Denver area.  They were quite impressed with the high level ademics that they observed in both the Elementary and Middle School at Blessed Sacrament.  Before a week was up, they signed up to have their children shadow for a day.  By the following Monday, they enrolled their children.   They witnessed and experienced what we see every day!
I am happy to share the good news on several items:
* This week we obtained our Permanent Child Care License from the State of Colorado for Falcon's Nest.  Congratulations to our Preschool Director, Mary Tellus, and the Falcon's Nest team for working hard to obtain permanent status!
* I invited the principals from Christ the King, Good Shepherd, and St. James to come together and create a combined-school summer enrichment program.  I am excited to introduce the first of its kind in the Archdiocese of Denver.  On Thursday in your child's backpack will be an application for summer enrichment camp.  We are excited to offer a variety of classes that are designed to enhance your child's academic proficiency and support their natural enthusiasm for learning.  Teachers from three schools (including ours) will be facilitating courses they designed.   A Drama course will be offered offsite, and taught by a former Cherry Creek School District drama teacher.  We hope you will consider this great summer opportunity!
The 2015-2016 ITBS results are in!  Our students have done extremely well.  Each winter our students take the norm-reference test.  When you receive your child's scores, you will be able to view their achievement level as it compares to other students across the country that are in the same grade.
Below is a glimpse of the school performance.
God bless you and your great children!

Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided.  Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.  O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
