Hi-Tech has posted Release 14.12 to our website. This December Hi-Tech Hi-Five describes five new features in this Release that will make your job easier!
For details on these new features, read the Update Memo. After Release 14.12 is installed, on the Hi-Tech main menu, click Update Memo and select System Update Release 14.12.
|
Hi-One: Enhanced ICD-10 Capabilities
|
In Edit Medical Record and Edit Medicare B Data we have improved the ICD-10 look-up and dual-coding features. New error checking will ensure that you record onset dates for ICD-10 codes, and the Diagnosis program will display warnings for duplicate ICD-10 codes and overlapping dates. Learn more about these new features in the Release 14.12 Update Memo, and access complete ICD-10 instructions from the Hi-Tech main menu: select Update Memo > System Update Instructions 14.12. Find these same instructions on our website under Clients > Important Instructions > ICD-10 Functionality within the Hi-Tech System. Please attend our ICD-10 Webinar on Monday, January 12 at 11 a.m. If you do not receive our Webinar invitations, complete our Webinar Sign Up form and select Resident Accounting and Billing or EMR.

Hi-Two: Resident Accounting Reporting Changes
| From Resident Accounting > Reporting, create a Resident Insurance List in an ASCII file format.
Through Reporting > Census > History Detail, print detail for individual room statuses.
|
Hi-Three: Payroll Deductions and W-2 Enhancements
|
On the Employee Maintenance > Deductions screen, deductions taken as a percent are indicated by the % sign, and the Deduction Edit screen will include a Percent field. The Deduction List will include a Balance Total for deductions marked as Balance Deductions. In the Deductions Library, when you add a new Regular deduction, you can select Take Deduction as a Percent and select tax withholdings to be excluded, to take the deduction either pre-tax or post-tax. The W-2 Report will provide an error message for items not correctly coded for the electronic file, including uncommon box 12 codes that will not be correctly reported in the E-File. Please attend our Payroll End of Year Webinar, Tuesday, December 9 at 10 am. Sign up to receive our Webinar invitations.

Hi-Four: Human Resources Provides Waived Insurance Reporting
| |
Through Human Resources System > Employee Maintenance > Current you can record Health Insurance Waiver information. A new report under Reporting > Tracking > Waived Insurances will list employees who waived employer health insurance.
|
Hi-Five: MDS 3.0 Section S for Maine
|
For the Maine MDS 3.0 Section S , Edit MDS will now do the following:
- Import the resident's Previous Address Zip code from Edit Medical Record > Contacts into S0120. Residence prior to admission.
- Allow you to Review Advance Directives recorded through Edit Medical Record > Allergies/Adv Dir/Other to obtain the information you need to answer S0170 Advance Directives.
- Not allow you to answer items under S6020. Resident Ventilator/Respirator needs if MDS item O100F. Ventilator or Respirator is not selected at 2. While a Resident.
Consider using the Hi-Tech Events module to record additional information that you are required to report in Section S. Call Hi-Tech Software if you need training on the Events module.
