Hi-Four: Hi-Tech Helps You Keep Your System at the Current Release
|
Is your Hi-Tech System ready for the installation of Release 14.03 with ICD-10 capabilities?
To install Release 14.03, your System should be at Release 13.12.
Please verify your Release status on the Hi-Tech main menu.
Sample:
If you are not at Release 13.12, please install that Release as soon a possible.
IMPORTANT: If you do not install a Hi-Tech Update for six months, the system will warn you:
Your Hi-Tech Software license has expired.
Before you can log in, you must install the updates that bring your system to the Current Release.
- Hi-Tech posts the Current Release and two previous releases on our website.
- If you are too far behind in your updates, you might not have access to a previous release that you need to install.
- It is a chargeable service for Hi-Tech to provide the previous releases that bring you up to date.
Releases 13.09, 13.10, and 13.12 are now available on our website. If your Hi-Tech System is not current, you must install updates from oldest to newest. For example, if your system is at Release 13.09, you must first install 13.10 and then 13.12.
Please call Hi-Tech Support if you need assistance.

Hi-Five: Hi-Tech MDS 3.0 Guards Against Back-dating
|
In accordance with CMS regulations, you must start recording an MDS 3.0 within two days of the ARD. If you create the MDS and back-date it beyond two days, the Hi-Tech Edit MDS program will display: WARNING: This date > 2 days old. You can continue entering the record and submit it. The Hi-Tech Edit MDS program stamps all MDS records with the date and time that the records are created. If your facility is audited, the auditor may ask for a list of these creation dates compared to ARDs. To verify that your facility is entering MDS records according to CMS regulations, in the Clinical Records System, select Reporting > MDS > Activity Log. On the report, look for records with the word New in the right-hand column. Compare the ASSESSMENT DATE and ACCESS DATE to verify that the MDS was entered into the system within two days of the ARD. The sample below shows an MDS with an ARD of 2/11/14 that was not entered into the system until 2/17/14.
