Jewish Federation of Delaware thanks all who attended Wednesday night's TOGETHER We Stand With Israel Solidarity Rally at the Siegel JCC! More than 250 people were in attendance representing a diverse cross-section of our community to support Israel.

Incredible speakers captivated the crowd with their personal stories and first-hand knowledge of the crisis in Israel, including:

U.S. Senator Chris Coons
Elad Strohmayer, Deputy Consul General of Israel for the Mid-Atlantic Region
Zachary Horowitz and Abby Kamen, local teens who just returned from a 3 week BBYO Trek Israel Tour
John Elzufon, Jewish Community Relations Committee (JCRC) Chair
JFD leadership, including Jack Blumenfeld, President; Robin Kauffman Saran, Israel Under Fire Campaign Chair; Bob Pincus, Israel Under Fire Honorary Campaign Chair
Community Rabbis, including Rabbi Yair Robinson, Rabbi Steven Saks and Rabbi Micah Becker-Klein

The worldwide Jewish community expresses its unending support for Israelis living again under terror in their own midst. The Jewish Federations of North America condemns Hamas and other terrorists in Gaza in the strongest possible terms for these attacks, making it clear that the North American Jewish community stands with Israel during this difficult time.

As long as the war continues, we will continue to provide relief from the line of fire for children; additional help for Israel's most vulnerable citizens; expanded trauma support, and; assistance for communities hit hardest by the conflict.

Our work is just beginning. The People of Israel, our family, appreciate all that our community is doing.

Please support the Israel Under Fire Emergency Campaign

Federation has initiated an emergency "Israel Under Fire" Emergency Campaign in conjunction with Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) to send immediate and urgently needed funds directly to Israel during this conflict. JFNA, through a focused and rigorous allocations process, has already distributed over $10 Million where the greatest needs are. They project the need for an additional $20 Million going forward. Through a focused and rigorous allocations process, areas that have been identified with the most immediate needs that include:

Ongoing trauma counseling- There are tens of thousands living in daily terror and in need of ongoing help and support

Strengthening local communities - Including upgrading of shelters, portable shelters, situation rooms, communications equipment, etc.

Investing in volunteer frameworks that strengthen the resiliency of communities - Especially throughout the South

Respite for children, families, at-risk populations, professionals and volunteers - For the thousands of people affected around the clock

Emergency preparedness - planning and training for front-line responders

Emergency health care - Especially for the two hospitals in the south bearing the brunt of responding to those injured
