NEWS & NOTES
Federation's weekly e-news to keep you informed, inspired and connected to Jewish life in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley.

Message from the CEO...

Greetings!,

Please join us tonight for Federation Shabbat at Congregation Beth Shalom. An interactive PJ Library program for children under 6 years of age will begin at 5:45pm with Shabbat Service beginning at 8:00pm. All Delaware synagogues from Rehoboth Beach, Dover, Newark and Wilmington will be in attendance as well as our beneficiary agency executives and leadership. It is a truly wonderful experience to see our community come together regardless of agency or synagogue affiliation. We thank CBS President Ralph Downard, Rabbi Michael Beals and Cantor Elisa Abrams for hosting our community and for their ongoing support.

This Sunday, please volunteer for one of three phoning sessions on SUPER SUNDAY, Federation's largest fundraising day of the year. If you are unable to make the call, please answer the call and help support the 2014 Annual Campaign - your support will do a world of good in Delaware, in Israel and around the world. Special thanks to Super Sunday Co-Chairs, Linda & Michael Sigman and Pam & Brian Appelbaum for their inspired leadership.

TOGETHER We Do Extraordinary Things.

Shabbat Shalom,

Roots In Arad - One Tree at a Time

Federation's Special Tu B'Shevat Appeal

"When I came into this world, I found a carob tree that others had planted for me.

Just as my ancestors planted for me, I plant this tree for my descendants."

Strengthen your roots with Israel this Tu B'Shevat, both spiritually and physically, by donating a fruit tree to be planted in our sister city of Arad.

Your fruit tree will help bring beauty and new life to the Northern Park of Arad. With each donation you will receive a picture of your tree with a plaque honoring your deeply rooted connection to the land of Israel and our bonds with Arad.

Donations of $72 per tree can be made online at ShalomDelaware.org/AradRoots or by calling 302.427.2100
