Message from the CEO...

Greetings!,

Good Morning.

Thanks to those families and supporters who attended PJ Library comes to Camp JCC on Thursday morning. It was wonderful to see the children from the Siegel JCC Camp participate and enjoy the story telling and activity that followed. We also heard from PJ Library's Paul Lewis, who traveled from Western Massachusetts where PJ Library was founded, to update our community on our successes. To date, we have 270 subscriptions state-wide with plans for expanding the subscription base to age eight (currently PJ Library in our community is from six months to five and a half years of age). Doing so will allow our community to increase the number of subscriptions throughout Delaware and the Brandywine Valley. Please consider contributing to PJ Library and contact Julie James with questions or to pledge your support to this important initiative.

We are also working hard at closing our 2013 Annual Campaign. If you have not yet made your pledge, now is the time. Payments are not due until December 31st but we need to confirm your pledge today. Please contact Federation Development Director, Wendy Berger, to make you pledge and help us build community. Your one gift supports our local beneficiary agencies and overseas partners.

With the strength of a people and the power of community, we are Improving Our World... TOGETHER.

Shabbat Shalom,

Community Journey to Israel
Mission and General Assembly
November 3-13, 2013
Chairs, Lisa Dadone-Weiner and Henry Weiner

Immediately ahead of the 2013 General Assembly in Jerusalem, the Delaware Jewish community will journey to Israel for an amazing mission that will reveal Israel in a new way, forge special connections to the land and people, and provide a deeper understanding of the important work of Federation.

We will then join the GA, where thousands of current and emerging Jewish leaders hear from world-class speakers and learn from each other to shape an even brighter future for Israel and the Jewish people.

Travel dates are November 3 -November 13, 2013

For this trip, we are fortunate to have Itai Tennanbaum as our guide. Itai was the guide for our community mission to Israel in 1999, and he is well known for making the journey in Israel an emotional, spiritual and educational adventure.
