Message from the CEO...

Greetings!,

Good Morning.

Many thanks to those members of our community who attended our first Israel Journey information gathering on Wednesday evening at the home of Lisa Dadone-Weiner and Henry Weiner. Please consider joining the Federation on our Community Journey to Israel, November 3rd-13th, 2013 and experience our spiritual homeland with fellow community members. For more information please contact Ellisha Caplan via email at ellisha@shalomdel.org.

In an interview with the Jerusalem Post posted yesterday, Jerry Silverman, CEO & President of Jewish Federations of North America, stressed the importance of unity in the Jewish community.

"In order to meet the acute challenges facing an increasingly fractured Jewish landscape, organized communal institutions are finding ways to evolve and adapt," said Silverman. "New and creative steps must be taken to combat the balkanization of an increasingly culturally and religiously fractured community." It's a thought-provoking article worth reading.

With the strength of a people and the power of community, we are
Improving Our World...TOGETHER.

Mission and General Assembly

Chairs, Lisa Dadone-Weiner and Henry Weiner

Immediately ahead of the 2013 General Assembly in Jerusalem, the Delaware Jewish community will journey to Israel for an amazing mission that will reveal Israel in a new way, forge special connections to the land and people, and provide a deeper understanding of the important work of Federation.

We will then join the GA, where thousands of current and emerging Jewish leaders hear from world-class speakers and learn from each other to shape an even brighter future for Israel and the Jewish people.

Please contact Ellisha Caplan for more information.
