NEWS & NOTES
Federation's weekly e-news to keep you informed, inspired and connected to Jewish life in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley.

Message from the CEO...

Greetings!,

Good morning.

Our community had an opportunity to meet Arielle Weisberg, the new Program Associate for Liberty Region BBYO, on Tuesday evening at the home of Kathy and Seth Bloom. Arielle will be in Wilmington every Wednesday and we look forward to working with her and building on the success of BBYO in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley.

On Wednesday morning, the Board of the Milton and Hattie Kutz Foundation met to approve grant requests for a number of local organizations. Later that evening, I had the pleasure of attending an intimate discussion with local Jewish and Palestinian community leaders. It is critically important to understand our two narratives to gain perspective in furthering our shared hope for peace in the Middle East. Thanks to Toni & Stuart Young and Mike & Rob Abel for their vision in creating a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas.

Final preparations and proofs were completed on Thursday afternoon for the June issue of the Jewish VOICE. Please look for the printed edition and digital e-dition early next week. The Kutz Home also held its Annual Meeting last night and we acknowledge the leadership of David Driban, President and Karen Friedman, Executive Director.

This Sunday, we are hosting our Shalom Baby & Family Breakfast at the JCC's Early Childhood Pavilion beginning at 9:30am. Special thanks to Shalom Baby Co-Chairs, Karen Legum and Wendi Ufberg, for their leadership and support.

With the strength of a people and the power of community, we are
Improving Our World...TOGETHER.
