Last Friday, Federation leadership visited the
Kristol Center for Jewish Life/ University of Delaware Hillel, one of our local beneficiary agencies. We attended meaningful student-run Shabbat service followed by a delicious dinner. Thanks to Ronit Sherwin, UD Hillel Executive Director, and her staff for coordinating such a memorable evening.
This past Sunday evening, more than 150 members of the community attended the
Peace Drums Project at the Delaware Art Museum, supported by Federation's
Jewish Community Relations Committee (JCRC). This unique Delaware interfaith initiative promotes peace among Jewish, Muslim and Christian youth living in the Galilee region of Israel.

On Tuesday evening, Federation's
Emerging Leadership Project (ELP) participants gathered at the home of community leaders Suzanne and Stuart Grant, who spoke about
Inspired Leadership. As we conclude the first year's program, participants will be placed in community leadership roles as we begin recruitment and selection of next year's ELP participants.
On Wednesday, students from the
Albert Einstein Academy, a Federation beneficiary agency and our community day school, gave two memorable performances of the
Wizard of Oz. Congratulations to the teachers, parents and students!
The Kutz Auxiliary also held its annual luncheon at the Wilmington Country Club with guest speaker Valerie Biden Owens. Congratulations to Leslie Goldenberg and Iris Vinokur, Auxiliary Co-Presidents, as well as the Event Co-Chairs and Committee.
University of Delaware President Pat Harker visited with student leaders at Hillel and announced the university's plans to launch kosher dining in the Fall of 2015! Yasher Koach!
Other meetings this week included our
Allocations Committee and
Executive Committee. Later this morning, I will be meeting with the Executive Directors of our five beneficiary agencies in the spirit of partnership and collaboration. I will also be taking a hard hat tour of
Lodge Lane, our community's new assisted living facility scheduled to open late summer.
