NEWS & NOTES
Federation's weekly e-news to keep you informed, inspired and connected to Jewish life in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley.

Message from the CEO...

Greetings!,

Thank you for supporting our community-wide Yom Ha'Atzmaut Israel@65 celebration this past Sunday at the Siegel JCC. Singer/songwriter Todd Herzog performed two concerts; a PJ Library Concert at 11:00am for children and a Community Concert at 2:00pm. Later that afternoon, the Jewish Historical Society of Delaware held its Annual Meeting featuring Lt. Governor Matt Denn.

The May issue of the Jewish VOICE went to press earlier this week and was mailed late yesterday afternoon. Please look for printed copies in your mail box beginning early next week or you can view the online e-dition by clicking here.

After months of planning and development, we are very pleased to launch our very own Jewish Federation of Delaware Mobile App to the community! Search "Jewish Federation of Delaware" or "JFDelaware" in your provider's App Store for your free download. Please also read the article below for more details and look forward to your input.

Tonight, Federation leadership will sponsor Shabbat services and dinner at the Kristol Center for Jewish Life/ University of Delaware Hillel, a Federation beneficiary agency. We are looking forward to visiting with UD Hillel students and interacting with our next generation of leaders.

On Sunday evening, members of our community will attend the Peace Drums Project at the Delaware Art Museum, supported by Federation's Jewish Community Relations Committee (JCRC) and co-chaired by Rabbi Michael Beals of Congregation Beth Shalom. This unique Delaware interfaith initiative promotes peace among Jewish, Muslim and Christian youth living in the Galilee region of Israel.

Please join me and support another Federation beneficiary agency, the Albert Einstein Academy, on May 8th for their production of the Wizard of Oz. There will be performances at 10:00am and 7:00pm in the Siegel JCC Auditorium.

With the strength of a people and the power of community, we are
Improving Our World...TOGETHER.

Shabbat Shalom

Download FREE App on Apple and Android Phones

Jewish Federation of Delaware launched its Mobile App earlier this week. Although we are not the first Federation in North America to introduce an organization mobile app but it is the first Federation the size of Delaware to do so. This free app is available for Apple and Android smart phones through their App Store.

"Our community is constantly evolving. In order to remain relevant and accessible it is important for Federation to leverage the latest trends and technologies. The Federation app provides an easy point of entry for our community. Accessing and sharing information is a simple proposition. Connecting to Federation has never been easier!"

- Seth J. Katzen, CEO

Thanks to the generosity of a community donor, the cost of app development and maintenance for the first year has been completely underwritten.
