Message from the CEO...

This past Sunday, 70 community members attended our CHAI Dinner at the Delaware Center for Horticulture to see mega-mentalist, Sidney Friedman. Special thanks to Karen Jacobs Louden and Jack Blumenfeld along with Craig and Amy Sternberg for so graciously co-chairing this special event.On Monday morning, 33 community leaders representing our beneficiary and affiliated agencies as well as area synagogues attended Federation's Solicitor Training to enhance their fundraising skills. On Wednesday, nearly 100 business professionals came out to the Blue Ball Barn for Federation's Craft Brews & Schmooze event featuring Shmaltz Brewing Company CEO, Jeremy Cowan. Attendees had an opportunity to sample a variety of Shmaltz products including Genesis, Messiah Nut Brown Ale, Reunion Ale and 16th Anniversary Jewbelation. Special thanks to event Co-Chairs, Bob Aerenson and Seth Bloom, for their leadership and support as well as the entire event committee in making this such a successful event. This Sunday, Federation's PJ Library will have a storytelling program at the Delaware Children's Museum beginning at 10:30am. To date, more than 250 children throughout Delaware have registered for their free subscription that delivers Jewish books and music every month. With the strength of a people and the power of community, we are Improving Our World...TOGETHER.
Shabbat Shalom and Hanukkah SameachSeth J. Katzen PS - All proceeds from Matisyahu's new song, Happy Hanukkah , will be donated to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Donations from the song will continue to benefit the Jewish Federations of North America and the Robinhood Foundation until the end of Hanukkah on December 16th. Head on over the the DCM for a unique morning featuring " The Only One Club". A dramatic story telling, related craft and a little snack are all part of each PJ Library program in Delaware. COST: $7 includes entrance to the museum, good all day with a PJ Library Program flyer or Jewish VOICE ad. DCM members get in FREE.
