Learn more about Federation and how we are Improving Our World... TOGETHER.
Greetings!

Last Friday, Federation launched our Emerging Leadership Project (ELP) comprised of our community's next generation of leadership who toured each of Federation's Beneficiary Agencies including the Siegel JCC, Jewish Family Services of Delaware, Albert Einstein Academy, the Kutz Home and we ended our tour at the Kristol Center for Jewish Life/Hillel at the University of Delaware where we participated in Shabbat services and a wonderful dinner with 50 students and staff. The ELP will meet monthly throughout the next nine months learning more about our vibrant community and the myriad ways of getting involved to make a meaningful difference. Thanks to ELP Co-Chairs Regan Davis Root and Amy Harrison for their leadership.

Judith Meisel
This past Sunday afternoon, the Jewish Fund for the Future and the Halina Wind Preston Memorial Lecture Series presented the film, "Tak for Alt: Survival of a Human Spirit", the story of Holocaust survivor Judith Meisel. More than 100 community members had an opportunity to meet Judith after the film for a question and answer session.

Jeff Metz as Noah
Simultaneously, nearly 75 people attended our Young Leadership Division's "Apples & Honey / PJ Library" event at Linvilla Orchards. Families listened to the story of "Noah's Bark" as told by storyteller Jeff Metz (aka Noah). Thanks to Adriana Mann, Amie Baker and Federation Outreach Director Roberta Matz for their support.

On Monday, we screened the film, "Noodle" at Adas Kodesch Shel Emeth as part of Federation's Israel Film Series, made possible by our Israel & Overseas Committee. This was the fourth film in our series with the next screening on November 18th at Temple Beth El in Newark. Each film was carefully selected by Community Shaliach, Onn Halfon, who leads an interactive discussion following each screening.

Women's Leadership with Amanda Steinberg
Wednesday evening featured our Women's Philanthropy WOW Fall Event featuring Amanda Steinberg, CEO of DailyWorth.com, who gave a "wealth of wisdom" to nearly 60 attendees. Special thanks to WP Co-Chairs, Barbara Blumberg and Dorothy Bobman along with their Event Committee, and Federation Development Director, Wendy Berger, for their assistance in making this an evening to remember.

Last night, our Leadership Council learned more about the various programs Federation supports in Israel including Partnership2Gether, Ethiopian National Project, Negev Funding Coalition, and Youth Outreach Center in Arad presented by Israel & Overseas Chair, Robin Karol Eng. Eight Delawareans and 27 others from New Jersey on October 25th will journey to Israel, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Arad, our partnership city. We look forward to sharing our experience with the community upon on our return November 2nd. The mission is being chaired by Connie & Michael Sugarman.

With the strength of a people and the power of community, we are
Improving Our World...TOGETHER.

Shabbat Shalom
