Staff Appreciation Week May 2 - 6!
Part of the Staff Appreciation celebration this week will include a "Rise & Shine Coffee Cart" on Friday, May 6. It will be located at main entrance from 7:45 to 8:45 am for teachers to enjoy coffee or tea along with other goodies in the staff lounge.
Parents are welcome to purchase coffee too!
An average coffee is about $5 (with tip). If you are interested in sponsoring a staff member's warm beverage that day, sign up for the member(s) you'd like to spoil HERE.
Please put the money in an envelope marked with the staff member's name and indicate that it's "coffee money" and drop it in the PTSA box.
A coffee certificate will be emailed to the sponsor to personalize and then leave in the staff member's mailbox so they know who treated them!
Friendly reminders:
- The SAW coloring page needs to be returned Monday, May 2. Extra coloring pages are available online HERE.
- We need parents to hang coloring sheets on Monday, May 2 at the beginning of the school day - all help is appreciated!

SchoolPool is BACK!
We're excited to get students at our school walking, biking, and sharing the ride to school this month with the Redmond SchoolPool! Participating families can help us raise up to $2,500 for our school.
Why Participate with the Redmond SchoolPool?
- To help students get more daily exercise by walking or biking to school
- To earn rewards for taking the bus
- To share carpooling duties with other families
- To help raise money for our school
- To reduce traffic congestion and local air pollution in our neighborhoods
- It's fun!
How to Participate:
- Get Your SchoolPool Calendar: Students will be given a calendar they can keep in their notebook or attach to their backpack.
- Don't Drive Alone to School: Each week that students take at least one walking, biking, carpool or bus trip to school they mark the calendar.
- Earn Rewards! At the end of the month, turn in your completed calendar to raise $10 for our PTSA and be entered into prizes for students from the Redmond SchoolPool.
If you're interested in finding a carpool partner to share the school drop off duties with, join the secure Redmond SchoolPool online network here. Send any questions to RedmondSchoolPool@Redmond.gov.

Come one Come All! The World of Fun International Carnival is coming to
Horace Mann Friday, June 3!
"A World of Fun" is back! This year we are combining Carnival, International Night and Art Night for the biggest event of the year! There will be carnival fun, international displays and art from around the world that the classes have been working on all year!
If you participated in the International Carnival last year, it would be our pleasure if you participated with a display this year, too. If you didn't participate last year, why not make this year the year you introduce your culture to the entire Horace Mann community? Please take a look at the flyer here and fill it out so we can start planning appropriately.
In addition to highlighting the varied cultures here at Mann, we'll also have games, activities and food that you've come to expect at the carnival - the cake walk, bouncy houses and more will all be there! For questions or to sign up, please contact desireemichael@gmail.com. We can't wait to see you there!
