LWSD Bond Measure on April 26 Ballot

Lake Washington School District has proposed a bond measure to reduce overcrowding and enhance student learning. This measure would raise funds to provide classroom space for 3,000 more students. Projects include two new elementary schools, one new middle school, and rebuilding and enlarging Juanita High School plus Kirk and Mead Elementary Schools. Because the district is paying off past bonds and construction levies, the tax rate would remain the same as the 2015 rate. Complete information on the measure is available at www.lwsd.org. Please remember to vote by April 26.
Spirit Team Pet Food Drive

The Spirit Team is excited to announce our pet food collection drive which will be taking place next week, April 18 - 22. Any wet or dry dog and cat food will be donated to the Humane Society. Please consider supporting a shelter animal and the kind people who support them by donating. We kindly ask that Purina's Beneful brand is not donated as the shelter will not take it. Any other brands will be gladly accepted. Thanks for helping Spirit Team and the Humane Society out by supporting our charity drive!
Knights of the Multiplication Table

Hear ye, Hear ye! Announcing the Knights of the Multiplication Table! It's time for all 3rd grade students to start working hard to learn their multiplication facts so they can join the Royal Order of the Knights of the Multiplication Table! Our royal Mrs. Spaulding knights all students who have completed their multiplication facts through 10. These knighting ceremonies are held once a month starting in February and continue through June. Happy Multiplying!!

Our ceremonies are held on Thursdays at 2:20 pm. The parents of those being knighted are invited to attend. Teachers will notify the student's parent or guardian. The next ceremony is Thursday, April 28.
Parent Input Forms
 
Staff have begun initial planning for the 2016-17 school year. Parents have an opportunity to share their input on the best educational setting for their child by completing a Parent Input Form. These forms can be picked up in the main office and must be returned by Friday, April 29, for the input to be considered for next year. The due date is firm since planning will start in May.
Horace Mann SBA Testing Schedule

Please be sure to use this calendar to plan doctor appointments or vacations accordingly so that your child can be present for their test dates. Remind your child to get a good night of sleep, eat well, and try their best.
