Valentine Post Office Pre-Orders

Valentine Post Office is in full swing. Pre-order forms are being sent home this weekend. Please return, with payment, by February 3. Your childrens' Valentines and stamps will be sent home where they can address them. You have two delivery options. First, you can bring the completed Valentine to the office and deliver them to the Valentine Post Office Box. If you choose this option, you may only deliver the Valentine. Please do not include any other types of gifts (i.e. balloons, stuffed animals, candy). The second option would be for your child to bring the Valentines to the classroom for their parties. This option would allow for other treats to be delivered. Valentines are available for pre-order in packets of 10 for $1. For any questions please contact Liz Holmquist at lizholmquist@yahoo.com.

English Language Proficiency Test
for the 21st Century

Between February 2 and March 11, 2016 students who are enrolled in the English Language Learner (ELL) program will participate in the yearly ELL assessment. This year the assessment is moving from a paper pencil assessment to a computer-based assessment. The test sections: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. Each test section should take 20 to 30 minutes.

Your building's ELL teachers will proctor the test. Please contact your school's ELL teacher for more information about when the test will be given at your school.

The results of this required annual state test will help teachers and parents understand how ELL students are learning English, and what other supports they need. Families will receive a score report in the mail after the test is completed.

Below you will find a link to additional information about this test.
